Innovation In Energy Systems written by Taha Selim Ustun and has been published by BoD – Books on Demand this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-11-27 with Technology & Engineering categories.

It has been a little over a century since the inception of interconnected networks and little has changed in the way that they are operated. Demand-supply balance methods, protection schemes, business models for electric power companies, and future development considerations have remained the same until very recently. Distributed generators, storage devices, and electric vehicles have become widespread and disrupted century-old bulk generation - bulk transmission operation. Distribution networks are no longer passive networks and now contribute to power generation. Old billing and energy trading schemes cannot accommodate this change and need revision. Furthermore, bidirectional power flow is an unprecedented phenomenon in distribution networks and traditional protection schemes require a thorough fix for proper operation. This book aims to cover new technologies, methods, and approaches developed to meet the needs of this changing field.

Signal Processing Of Power Quality Disturbances written by Math H. J. Bollen and has been published by John Wiley & Sons this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2006-08-04 with Technology & Engineering categories.

Bridging the gap between power quality and signal processing This innovative new text brings together two leading experts, onefrom signal processing and the other from power quality. Combiningtheir fields of expertise, they set forth and investigate varioustypes of power quality disturbances, how measurements of thesedisturbances are processed and interpreted, and, finally, the useand interpretation of power quality standards documents. As a practical aid to readers, the authors make a clear distinctionbetween two types of power quality disturbances: * Variations: disturbances that are continuously present * Events: disturbances that occur occasionally A complete analysis and full set of tools are provided for eachtype of disturbance: * Detailed examination of the origin of the disturbance * Signal processing measurement techniques, including advancedtechniques and those techniques set forth in standardsdocuments * Interpretation and analysis of measurement data * Methods for further processing the features extracted from thesignal processing into site and system indices The depth of coverage is outstanding: the authors present andanalyze material that is not covered in the standards nor found inthe scientific literature. This text is intended for two groups of readers: students andresearchers in power engineering who need to use signal processingtechniques for power system applications, and students andresearchers in signal processing who need to perform power systemdisturbance analyses and diagnostics. It is also highly recommendedfor any engineer or utility professional involved in power qualitymonitoring.

Outlier Detection For Temporal Data written by Manish Gupta and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2022-06-01 with Computers categories.

Outlier (or anomaly) detection is a very broad field which has been studied in the context of a large number of research areas like statistics, data mining, sensor networks, environmental science, distributed systems, spatio-temporal mining, etc. Initial research in outlier detection focused on time series-based outliers (in statistics). Since then, outlier detection has been studied on a large variety of data types including high-dimensional data, uncertain data, stream data, network data, time series data, spatial data, and spatio-temporal data. While there have been many tutorials and surveys for general outlier detection, we focus on outlier detection for temporal data in this book. A large number of applications generate temporal datasets. For example, in our everyday life, various kinds of records like credit, personnel, financial, judicial, medical, etc., are all temporal. This stresses the need for an organized and detailed study of outliers with respect to such temporal data. In the past decade, there has been a lot of research on various forms of temporal data including consecutive data snapshots, series of data snapshots and data streams. Besides the initial work on time series, researchers have focused on rich forms of data including multiple data streams, spatio-temporal data, network data, community distribution data, etc. Compared to general outlier detection, techniques for temporal outlier detection are very different. In this book, we will present an organized picture of both recent and past research in temporal outlier detection. We start with the basics and then ramp up the reader to the main ideas in state-of-the-art outlier detection techniques. We motivate the importance of temporal outlier detection and brief the challenges beyond usual outlier detection. Then, we list down a taxonomy of proposed techniques for temporal outlier detection. Such techniques broadly include statistical techniques (like AR models, Markov models, histograms, neural networks), distance- and density-based approaches, grouping-based approaches (clustering, community detection), network-based approaches, and spatio-temporal outlier detection approaches. We summarize by presenting a wide collection of applications where temporal outlier detection techniques have been applied to discover interesting outliers. Platform Based Design written by Alberto Sangiovanni-Vincentelli and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-08-09 with Technology & Engineering categories.

Embedded Systems design becomes more complex as increasingly sophisticated functionality is added to designs. In addition to considerations of cost, performance, and time-to-market, various system integration issues become challenging, given the inherently heterogeneous nature of embedded systems. Platform Based Design introduces a rigorous design methodology to address the various challenges posed by complex, heterogeneous, embedded systems.
