Una adolecente que estudia secundaria es secuestrada por unos tipos y es trasladada a la ciudad, donde se encuentra una dependencia que se hace pasar por una oficina de desempleo que busca trabajo a personas desempleadas, pero detrás de todo esto se encuentra una red nacional e internacional que se dedica a explotar jóvenes y trata de blancas a hombres importantes que buscan gozar con jovencitas vírgenes, pagando miles de monedas a estas redes. Soraya es una jovencita con tan solo trece años de edad, donde tendrá que hacer el papel de niña mujer, obligada a tener sexo con un hombre influyente que le hará la vida imposible, obligándola a hacer cosas tan humillantes, que la dejaran trastornada para toda su vida, al sentir que ya no puede más escapa de su verdugo, poniendo en riesgo su vida, cuando logra salir de este infierno, se adentrara a una gran ciudad donde se enfrentara a muchos peligros, ahora su subsistencia corre peligro. Es perseguida por malhechores y la misma policía, por toda la ciudad hasta ser encontrada, pero sin imaginar lo que está pasando, cae en manos de su agresor, ero se quedara helado al saber de quién se trata verdaderamente esta jovencita. Lo que hizo no tiene perdón, su vida dará un giro inesperado. Descubre los más intensos y escalofriantes maltratos y abusos de este malhechor que abusa de jóvenes inocentes sin importar lo que sufren. En la actualidad hay muchas personas enfermas sexualmente, que terminan con la felicidad de muchos seres inocentes e inofensivos.

Esta vecindad con Trinidad ha determinado una sociedad con con cierta influencia anglosajona. Las situaciones sociales son todas ficticias pero posibles en la realidad venezolana de la transición del siglo XX al siglo XXI. Las consideraciones filosóficas y religiosas son puramente de la creatividad del autor. El amor como el motor de las relaciones humanas con sus facetas pasionales, sensoriales, afectivas, emosionales e incluso platónicas se aprecia a lo largo de toda la ficción de esta novela.

La tesis de la investigadora, defendida en 2017 en la Universidad de Deusto y dirigida por los profesores Felipe Gómez Isa y Carlos Martín Beristain, analiza el que califica de “conflicto olvidado” del Sahara Occidental desde la perspectiva de los derechos humanos abordando, en particular, el delito de desaparición forzada. Para ello, la autora, que formó parte del equipo de trabajo de la investigación que desembocó en “El Oasis de la Memoria”, analiza en detalle 95 casos de desaparición forzada, 86 de ellos recogidos en dicha publicación y los nueve restantes, en “Meheris: la esperanza posible”. La investigadora indica que es necesaria “una voluntad política real por transformar la realidad y romper con el pasado de violaciones de derechos humanos” y denuncia que “no se haya respetado el derecho de las víctimas a la verdad”. Los resultados del trabajo, según apunta López, se espera que sirvan para que las personas afectadas puedan defender sus derechos ante las instancias internacionales y la Audiencia Nacional española.
