Your life is getting the exact results it’s designed to get. To change your life, you must first change your design. What if you got the exact results you wanted? Sound too good to be true? Your results are simply a reflection of your thinking up until now. The 7 steps that make up Higher Life Design will equip you to arrive at your intended destination healthy, wealthy, and happy. Despite possessing great entrepreneurial ambition for a new start-up business, by the age of 20 life had Jefferson in a choke hold. His bank account was in the red at -$1,100 and his debt load of $70,000 told a similar tale. Jefferson decided he needed a change. With a newfound commitment, he turned that decision into a reality by discovering the Higher Life Design. Over time, this process helped him earn several million dollars and build a team of more than 100,000 leaders in more than 30 countries. Jefferson shares the Higher Life Design with people who want to arrive at their intended destination healthy, wealthy, and happy. He and his wife, Megan, live in Texas with their two sons, Harrison and Livingston.

fib Bulletin 34 addresses Service Life Design (SLD) for plain concrete, reinforced concrete and pre-stressed concrete structures, with a special focus on design provisions for managing the adverse effects of degradation. Its objective is to identify agreed durability related models and to prepare the framework for standardization of performance based design approaches. Four different options for SLD are given: - a full probabilistic approach, - a semi probabilistic approach (partial factor design), - deemed to satisfy rules, - avoidance of deterioration. The service life design approaches described in this document may be applied for the design of new structures, for updating the service life design if the structure exists and real material properties and/or the interaction of environment and structure can be measured (real concrete covers, carbonation depths), and for calculating residual service life. The bulletin is divided into five chapters: 1. General 2. Basis of design 3. Verification of Service Life Design 4. Execution and its quality management 5. Maintenance and condition control It also includes four informative annexes, which give background information and examples of procedures and deterioration models for the application in SLD. The format of Bulletin 34 follows the CEB-FIP tradition for Model Codes: the main provisions are given on the right-hand side of the page, and on the left-hand side, the comments. Note: An Italian translation of Bulletin 34 is also available; contact us for further details.

This book explores the module design experiences and practices of academics employed within one UK university, and during a period of social and economic change in which university staff are designing and delivering curricula for changing student populations, with different profiles and expectations than previous generations. The book raises issues such as why, in a climate of reduced resources, staff increase their own workloads by re-writing lectures to accommodate changing student needs, and how institutional practices that are used to encourage curriculum innovation are often having a perceived opposite effect. It will appeal to academic staff, students of higher education studies, and policy-makers within the education sector.

Suburban space has traditionally been understood as a formless remnant of physical city expansion, without a dynamic or logic of its own. Suburban Urbanities challenges this view by defining the suburb as a temporally evolving feature of urban growth.Anchored in the architectural research discipline of space syntax, this book offers a comprehensive understanding of urban change, touching on the history of the suburb as well as its current development challenges, with a particular focus on suburban centres. Studies of the high street as a centre for social, economic and cultural exchange provide evidence for its critical role in sustaining local centres over time. Contributors from the architecture, urban design, geography, history and anthropology disciplines examine cases spanning Europe and around the Mediterranean.By linking large-scale city mapping, urban design scale expositions of high street activity and local-scale ethnographies, the book underscores the need to consider suburban space on its own terms as a specific and complex field of social practice
