Sweeping and evocative, The Hidden Girl is a lost treasure from the global number one bestseller and author of The Seven Sisters series, Lucinda Riley. You can’t alter destiny . . . Born and raised in a small village on the Yorkshire moors, Leah Thompson grows more beautiful with each passing day. When she catches the attention of the influential, troubled Delancey family, she knows her life will never be the same again. Years later, Leah has taken the modelling world by storm, travelling from Milan to London and New York and living life in the lap of luxury. But her past follows her like a dark shadow, mysteriously intertwined with the tragic tale of two young siblings in Poland during the Second World War. As two generations of secrets threaten to explode, Leah is haunted by a fatal, forgotten prophecy from her past, and must fight to challenge the destiny that has been mapped out for her in the stars . . . The Hidden Girl is a standalone novel from Lucinda Riley, reworked and given new life by Harry Whittaker, Lucinda’s son and co-author of the record breaking and international bestselling phenomenon of 2023, Atlas: The Story of Pa Salt.

Longlisted for the CWA Gold Dagger 2021 How does the saying go? Just because you’re paranoid, it doesn’t mean they’re not out to get you . . . For Ruth, a new mother recovering from postpartum psychosis, every day is difficult and, after months spent hearing voices in the walls and trusting no one, she’s no longer confident in her own judgement. Neither, it seems, is anyone else. So, when she hears a scream from the local petrol station one night, she initially decides it must be her mind playing tricks again. The police, too, are polite but firm: she must stop calling them every time she thinks she hears something. And her husband is frustrated: he’d hoped Ruth was getting better at last. Ruth can’t quite let it go . . . What if there was a scream? What if it was someone in trouble? Someone who needs Ruth’s help? Exploring the dark and isolating side of motherhood, the question at the heart of Rebecca Whitney's The Hidden Girls is how much you can help someone else when you can’t trust anyone – even yourself . . .

The Hidden Girl written by Marika Henriques and has been published by Shepheard-Walwyn Publishers this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2018 with Psychology categories.

Marika Henriques was born in Budapest in 1935. During the Holocaust in 1944, separated from her family, she became a hidden child. That being a Jew was shameful and had to be hidden remained deeply etched into her being for decades. Fascism was followed by communism after the war. Persecuted once more, now for her middle class background, she escaped during the Hungarian uprising in 1956. She crossed the border on foot through mine fields in temperatures of minus 25 degrees centigrade. She arrived as a refugee in England and married a Swedish Jew in 1961. In due course she found her vocation and became a Jungian psychotherapist. Jung's ideas were an integral part of the process of understanding herself and after undergoing psychoanalysis, drawings and poems poured out of her as part of the healing process. The drawings emerged unbidden and were drawn quickly, without fully under-standing what they signified. But over the years she has stitched 19 of them as tapestries. The gentler pace of stitching was all a part of the healing process, and they are woven together with the drawings and poems in the book as she unfolds her story.
