In the first part of the seventh and final adventure, Harry, Ron and Hermione set out on a perilous mission to track down and destroy Voldemort’s secret of immortality and destruction – the Horcruxes. The three friends now, without the protection of their teachers or Dumbledore, must trust each other more than ever. But in the middle are the forces of darkness that threaten to tear it apart. I can give the highest honor to “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1” — the film adaptation of the seventh and final half of the book in J.K. Rowling’s series — it doesn’t feel like a “Harry Potter” movie. He plays as an intense admirer of young men running for their lives and desperately searching for an unfolding mystery.

As the carefully crafted “Deathly Hallows” opens, Harry (Daniel Radcliffe) is on the run with Hermione and Ron trying to stay one step ahead of Voldemort’s death by eating him and searching for Horcruxes, the magical items that are the key to defeating Voldemort (Radph. Fiennes) forever.

Long-standing tensions between Harry, Ron (Ruert Grint) and Hermione (Emma Watson) focus on their friendship; Ron and Hermione struggle with feelings that run deeper.

The Ending Of Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part 1 Explained

Grint has been criticized for being weak in the past, but he is brilliant at the center of the scene. Even Watson is stepping up his game, perhaps for once doing more than shouting “Harry!” Again and again.

This fast-paced movie leaves us no time to miss Hogwarts or Quidditch, not when we can savor the insightful action scenes as wild animals, flying motorcycles and broomsticks chase over London.

The movie version of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” is actually a better book. Which section will drag endlessly when Harry, Hermione and Ron are wandering around the woods unarmed? Now it’s a shorter, more entertaining travelogue. The screenplay by Steve Kloves also plays down some of the confusing business of Harry and Voldemort tearing each other’s urns apart.

However, the lack of chemistry between Harry and his robot-friend Giinny (Bonnie Wright) is so annoying that we wish things had worked with his first robot, Cho Chang.

Parents be warned: Children should be prepared for the killing of minor characters, for torture and for some bloody moments.

When Harry and his friends arrived at Ron’s older brother’s house on the beach, their last adventure was only half over. We’ll have to wait until July to see the conclusion in “Part II.”

Those who have read the book know the end of the story, but “Deathly Hallows: Part I” is so exciting that it whets our appetite for “Part II.”
