Welcome to this book. Inside you will find everything that you need to know about keeping bees. Now, before we go on, I must warn you, there will be some bee humor in here. There will be lots of puns too, I mean a lot! So if you do not wish to be entertained while learning, then I would suggest going out and buying a boring book. This book is going to be fun. Now down to business. Why would you want to keep bees? There are many reasons. Bees are dying out around the world, yet they help to produce up to one third of the world's food. We cannot let them die! By keeping bees, you are increasing the bee population and saving the world! Pretty cool, right. Another great reason to keep bees is all the free honey that you will have access to. Soon you will be an expert, thanks to this book. That means that you will have honey coming out of your ears (not literally, that would be gross). Bees produce a lot of honey, as if by magic. Do it right and you could end up with a lot of great honey. Now, not only will your honey be raw and organic (the best kinds), but it will also be local. Studies have shown that honey made from the pollen of local flowers can help to ease allergies and other ailments. The great part is, that even if it does nothing to cure or help any of those, you still have a great tasting sugar substitute. You will also be able to smell the sweet aroma of honey wafting from your backyard (or wherever your beehive is) into your house. On a warm summer's day, this will be bliss. It will not only be our sense of smell which is tickled, our other senses will benefit too. Bees are friendly creatures and if you do not harm them then they will not harm you. It is a pleasure to see bees buzzing through your yard. Going from flower to flower and then back to the hive. The noise too. The gentle buzz of the honeybee brings any garden alive. While we are talking about bringing your garden alive, we should talk about your garden being brought alive, literally. Bees will increase the pollination of your yard and the surrounding areas. If you grow fruits or vegetables then you will experience greater yields. If you have flowers, then those flowers will bloom like never before. Is there nothing that bees cannot do? Well, use doors thankfully. We like bees, but we do not want them all moving in to our house. There are much more benefits that we could talk about, but for now, I will leave you with one thought planted in your mind. The honey that you harvest from your own bees will be the best honey that you have ever tasted in your life.

How to harvest delicious honey in your backyard to give your flowers the boost they need? You’ve always had a bit of a green thumb, planting both food crops and flowers. But recent years have been disappointing, and you’re considering scaling back your garden. That’s when you visit your friend. They’re always up to something, and this year is no different. Walking up to their house, you’re greeted by a garden that is positively bursting with color. The backyard is remarkably, even better. How did they do it? “Bees,” says your friend, casually. The bee colonies they started a couple of years ago have ensured fully pollinated plants and great harvests. This, not to mention the side business he started selling the honey and wax. They suggest you do it, too. There are a lot of reasons to keep bees, including: ⚫Pollinating your other plants ⚫Improving harvests ⚫Harvesting honey, wax, and pollen ⚫Getting outside more often ⚫Supporting the local ecosystem ⚫Starting a business In recent years, there has substantial growth in urban agriculture and homesteading. This includes beekeeping. Aside from the benefits of a better garden and outdoor activity, it helps the ecology and food supply. The Food and Agriculture Organization predicts that if the trend continues, by 2035 the common honeybee might disappear. This means that at a macro-level these highly-effective pollinators are needed more than ever. In addition to making a valuable contribution to the world, beekeeping is a meditative and relaxing activity. Handling bees with ease in full gear, you can’t help but look like a rockstar. Of course, there is work and learning involved, but this effort can be invigorating, even before considering all the other benefits. The first step is figuring out if beekeeping is for you and then starting small, step by step, to get firsthand experience. Here’s a select sample of what you’ll discover in Beekeeping for Beginners: ⚫Step by step instructions for setting up and cultivating your bee colonies ⚫Drones, workers, and queen, oh my! Understanding bee colony dynamics for a happy hive ⚫Gardening for bees – finding your bee’s favorite plants for productive colonies ⚫A complete list of considerations and expectations to determine if beekeeping is for you ⚫Building your beehive with effective design and straightforward construction ⚫Protecting your hive from common threats and keeping them healthy ⚫How to find the necessary support to avoid costly mistakes And much more. Some people are resistant to starting bee colonies because the thought of being around a lot of bees can be intimidating. The key is to wear the right gear, start small with just a couple of colonies, and practice the techniques to build facility and confidence. After a while, the bees become just a normal part of the routine. If you want to level up your garden and do something epic this year, scroll up and click the ‘Add to Cart’ button.

This essential guide to beekeeping will introduce you, in a simple and effective way, to all the various steps you need to take in order to generate your beehives and make them prosper. One of the most common mistakes among beginners is to think that all bees are capable of producing honey. You need to know that there exist more than 20.000 species of bees, but only a small part of those can actually produce honey! It is then important to understand which kind of bee to raise to be able to produce good honey, pollen, propolis and royal jelly. There currently are many references about the beneficial properties of honey for our health, and there are also many studies dedicated to these. Obviously, in order to enjoy all the benefits provided by honey, you need to prefer the raw one, the one that has not undergone industrial processing. In fact, such processes deprive it from many of its useful nutrients, impoverishing its quality and reducing its effectiveness. From picking the right hive and bringing your bees home to surviving winter and collecting honey, experienced beekeeper Amanda Ross takes you on an easy-to-follow journey through your first year of beekeeping and beyond. Beekeeping for beginners includes: Just the essentials―Learn everything you need to know to begin your first colony―written with brand new beekeepers in mind. Modern beekeeping―Start your colony off right with guides that feature the newest practices and current, natural approaches. Learn to speak the bee language―Clearly defined terms and a complete glossary will have you talking like a pro beekeeper in no time. The following are just some of the great benefits and properties of natural raw honey: It is very rich in antioxidants; It can counteract bacterial proliferation; It has anti-inflammatory properties; It is effective in the treatment of cough; It is an excellent source of energy, and also a healthier sweetener compared to to normal sugar. Honey can even help healing wounds! Isn't it amazing? It is in fact being proved that the application of the substance on wounds can stimulate the healing process and helps with tissue regeneration; it also helps to prevent infections and reduce inflammations. So, wouldn't it be great to have healthy hives in your backyard and a good supply of honey at your disposal? Thanks to this book you will learn: How to start beekeeping even if you are an absolute beginner; The structure of a hive; Everything you need to know about bees (honey bees, bee society, anatomy...); How to select the best location, and position the new bee colonies for both their safety and yours; Which tools you need to have; How to set up and take care of your colonies; The honey-bee reproduction; How to feed bees with nectar, pollen and honey substitutes; How to solve problems related to beekeeping; How to keep hives healthy; How to enjoy rich honey production, how to harvest it, store it, and which are the other beehive products you can enjoy;
