A lavishly illustrated celebration of Coca-Cola's 120 years in Canada. Coca-Cola has been refreshing Canadians for 120 years. But the relationship goes much deeper than that. Canada makes, as well as drinks, Coca-Cola beverages in huge quantities. The first batch of iconic bottles to be made in Canada came off a production line at 65 Bellwoods Avenue in Toronto in 1907. Today Coca-Cola employs thousands of Canadians in all ten provinces, in production plants, in sales, distribution and, of course, on the farms that produce the ingredients required by that legendary secret recipe. Coca-Cola has also made significant contributions to Canadian sports and culture, too, by way of sponsorship; and in return, Canada will be forever in the company's debt for demonstrating that Coke goes down very well in cold weather too, transforming the marketing of Coke from a summer thrist-quencher to a drink for all seasons. Douglas Hunter chronicles this association with a born storyteller's verve and historian's eye for the telling detail. And for this project Coca-Cola Canada has granted full access to its extraordinary archive of photographs and graphic art. The spectacular selection in this book serve as both a window into the history of Canada in its sesquicentennial year, and a celebration of the company that has been a key partner in our national project for 120 of those 150 years.

For God, Country and Coca-Cola is the unauthorized history of the great American soft drink and the company that makes it. From its origins as a patent medicine in Reconstruction Atlanta through its rise as the dominant consumer beverage of the American century, the story of Coke is as unique, tasty, and effervescent as the drink itself. With vivid portraits of the entrepreneurs who founded the company -- and of the colorful cast of hustlers, swindlers, ad men, and con men who have made Coca-Cola the most recognized trademark in the world -- this is business history at its best: in fact, "The Real Thing."

International Disputes And Cultural Ideas In The Canadian Arctic written by Danita Catherine Burke and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017-08-22 with Political Science categories.

This book explores the Canadian relationship with its portion of the Arctic region which revolves around the dramatic split between the appearance of absent-minded governance, bordering on indifference toward the region, and the raging nationalism during moments of actual and perceived challenge toward the sovereignty of the imagined “Canadian Arctic region.” Canada’s nationalistic relationship with the Arctic region is often discussed as a reactionary phenomenon to the Americanization of Canada and the product of government propaganda. As this book illustrates, however, the complexity and evolution of the Canadian relationship with the Arctic region and its implication for Canada’s approach toward international relations requires a more in-depth exploration Please be aware than an error has been noted for Table 1.1 on page 71. In this table the sub-category “Inuit” is mislabelled. It should read “Native Indians and Inuit” as the data presented represents this Canadian census sub-category which calculated all indigenous peoples and Inuit peoples together.

In Canada, Latin America, and the New Internationalism Brian Stevenson argues that Canada's foreign policy toward Latin America has been profoundly affected by these three factors and has evolved in response to both changing domestic demands and shifting international circumstances. By analysing a pivotal period in Canada-Latin American relations, he shows us how successive Canadian governments made important initiatives toward closer relationships with Latin America and were also pressured by non-governmental organizations to play a bigger role in the region. Canada's increased role can be seen in official foreign policy commitments, such as the decision to join the Organization of American States, and in policy decisions on political refugees. He explains that while the United States has played a key role in sometimes constraining Canadian foreign policy in the region, it is important to realize that Canadian foreign policy has been steadied by a long-standing tradition of internationalism. Canada, Latin America, and the New Internationalism demonstrates that the tradition of internationalism in Canadian foreign policy as viewed from the perspective of foreign policy analysis provides the framework within which to understand and accommodate changes in its policy toward Latin America. The period which the book explores is critical in order to understand the contemporary nature and future direction of Canada-Latin America relations.

From the French origin of Coca-Cola to McDonald’s sponsorship of the 2015 Milan Expo, the book presents the first comparative history of these multinational corporations in two Western European countries, addressing some compelling questions: to what extent our increasingly globalized world is persistently shaped by forms of American hegemony, and what are some of the forces that have been most effective at challenging the relationship between Americanization and globalization? Through the local history of global companies, the book tells a new story about not only the influence of American businesses in Europe but also the influence of European governments and societies on those American businesses and their adaptability.

Marketing is a universal activity that is widely applicable, regardless of the political, social or economic systems of a particular country. However, this doesn't mean that consumers in different parts of the world should be satisfied in the same way. The fifth edition of International Marketing has been written to enable managers and scholars to meet the international challenges they face every day. It provides the solid foundation required to understand the complexities of marketing on a global scale. Fully updated, this book includes topical case studies, examples of contemporary marketing campaigns, the most relevant discussion topics and up-to-date theories, references and research findings. It is this combination of theory and practice that makes this textbook truly unique, presenting a fully rounded view of the topic rather than solely an anecdotal or descriptive one.
