Low Centre of Gravity finds Michael Dennis in familiar territory. You'll laugh. You'll cry. Dennis' poems continue to be the narratives of movies you'd like to someday see. These poems ask the questions you'd really like answered, sauntering into the room and staking claim. The story-telling continues, the good, the bad and the sadly tragic. With Low Centre of Gravity Dennis remains "direct, curious, pissed off and honest".

"Body Physics was designed to meet the objectives of a one-term high school or freshman level course in physical science, typically designed to provide non-science majors and undeclared students with exposure to the most basic principles in physics while fulfilling a science-with-lab core requirement. The content level is aimed at students taking their first college science course, whether or not they are planning to major in science. However, with minor supplementation by other resources, such as OpenStax College Physics, this textbook could easily be used as the primary resource in 200-level introductory courses. Chapters that may be more appropriate for physics courses than for general science courses are noted with an asterisk symbol (*). Of course this textbook could be used to supplement other primary resources in any physics course covering mechanics and thermodynamics"--Textbook Web page.

It is matter of some surprise that this treasury of information concerning the centres of gravity of various parts of the human body has remained hidden not only from the English speaking world for obvious reasons, but also to some degree from the Ger mans themselves. What is less surprising is t!1at this work is a monument to the renouned German thoroughness as demon strated by the relentless pursuit of data and the meticulous ac curacy of the conclusions. However, these scientific investigations carried out in Leipzig must be viewed in the intellectual climate of the time. In the lat ter half of the nineteenth century, and later, Germany underwent an intellectual explosion. It was the age of Rhumkorff, Max Planck, the Weber brothers and Gottingen University. It was said that science came to life during discussions on the train be tween Gottingen and Berlin. So the scene was set and Braune and Fischer made good use of it and fulfilled their role as mem bers of the Royal Scientific Society of Saxony. When Pauwels (1935) analysed the static and dynamic forces exerted on the hip joint when standing and when walking, he needed data concerning the centres of gravity of the human body and of its different segments. I was faced with the same pre requisite when I studied the forces acting on the knee (1976).

When life comes apart at the seams, love is the only thread that can mend it. Accountant Rob Macomb has a stable job that he’s good at and… that’s about it. A year of nothing but heartache leaves him seeking refuge from loneliness and grief behind spreadsheets, punishing daily runs, and the occasional anonymous tryst. He wants only to bury the past and focus on his career, but he has one last task to complete: pack up his parent’s quaint beachside house and put it on the market. Alex Andrews is a budding artist with a penchant for Converse, Cracker Jack, and piercings. Family turmoil sidelines his dreams of finishing art school and building a career in three-dimensional design, and now he’s doing whatever he can to keep everyone afloat. When Alex shows up as a part of the moving crew hired to help Rob clean out the house, what should be a simple move becomes far more complex. Because it’s not the first time they’ve met, and their last encounter was memorable for all the wrong reasons. The attraction between them is undeniable and intense, but Rob’s hell-bent on pushing everyone away, and Alex is on the verge of spinning out of control. Can a grumpy accountant and a bootstrapping artist find their center of gravity together, or are they on a collision course to heartbreak? An emotionally-charged, slow burn m/m romance featuring an age gap, hurt/comfort themes, and a hard-won happily ever after. This is the standalone first in the Nook Island, Georgia series.

"Data are presented concerning the location of the center of gravity of the adult male in various body positions and the ability to shift the c.g. voluntarily with various body motions. Maximum possible shifts of the c.g. from that of an erect standing posture were found to be 11 1/2 inches toward the head, 10 inches toward the feet, 8 inches anteriorly, 4 1/2 inches posteriorly and 4 1/2 inches laterally."--Abstract.

Physics For Animators written by Michele Bousquet and has been published by CRC Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2015-12-07 with Computers categories.

Achieving believable motion in animation requires an understanding of physics that most of us missed out on in art school. Although animators often break the laws of physics for comedic or dramatic effect, you need to know which laws you’re breaking in order to make it work. And while large studios might be able to spend a lot of time and money testing different approaches or hiring a physics consultant, smaller studios and independent animators have no such luxury. This book takes the mystery out of physics tasks like character motion, light and shadow placement, explosions, ocean movement, and outer space scenes, making it easy to apply realistic physics to your work. Physics concepts are explained in animator’s terms, relating concepts specifically to animation movement and appearance. Complex mathematical concepts are broken down into clear steps you can follow to solve animation problems quickly and effectively. Bonus companion website at www.physicsforanimators.com offers additional resources, including examples in movies and games, links to resources, and tips on using physics in your work. Uniting theory and practice, author Michele Bousquet teaches animators how to swiftly and efficiently create scientifically accurate scenes and fix problem spots, and how and when to break the laws of physics. Ideal for everything from classical 2D animation to advanced CG special effects, this book provides animators with solutions that are simple, quick, and powerful.
