This book is a must for enthusiasts of outstanding high-performance automobiles. It examines in detail all the great Chrysler 300 models from 1955 to the latest versions including the 425 horsepower 2005 300C SRT-8 model and the 300's running-mate, the 2005 Dodge Magnum. With hundreds of color and black and white photos, a carefully researched text, production and sales data, and a year-by-year study of each Chrysler 300, this is a high-quality book celebrating the origin and return to glory of one of America's most respected high-performance automobiles. p.p1 {margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 11.0px Arial} In 1951 Chrysler produced its first ever V8 engine – and what an engine it was! Technically advanced and featuring hemispherical combustion chambers, the new “Hemi-Head” engine produced much more power in relation to its capacity than any of its competitors could manage. In 1955 the new Chrysler C-300 was launched. The new model combined muscle (300 horse-power), style (by Virgil Exner) and superb handling for what was a large car. In its first year of production the new C-300 would win both major American stock car racing series: NASCAR and AAA. So began the legend and for each of the next ten years a new 300 model, identified by a different letter of the alphabet, would appear. Here, from C-300 to 300L, is the full story of Chrysler’s famous 300 Letter series - “America’s Most Powerful Car.”

Collecting Muscle Car Model Kits written by Tim Boyd and has been published by CarTech Inc this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2018-05-15 with Crafts & Hobbies categories.

In the 1960s, model kit building was a huge hobby. Kids built plastic kits of planes, tanks, race cars, space ships, creatures from scary movies, you name it. Before baseball card collecting, Pokémon, and video games, model kit building was one of the most popular hobby activities. Car and airplane kits were the most popular, and among the car kits, muscle cars, as we know them today, were one of the most popular categories. Many owners of real muscle cars today were not old enough to buy them when the cars were new, of course. Yet kids of the 1960s and 1970s worshiped these cars to an extent completely foreign to kids today. If you couldn’t afford or were too young to buy a muscle car back then, what could you do? For many, the next best thing was to buy, collect, and build muscle car kits from a variety of kit companies. Hundreds were made. Many of these kits have become collectible today, especially in original, unassembled form. Although people still build kits today, there is a broad market for collectors of nostalgic model kits. People love the kits for the great box art, to rekindle fond memories of building them 40 years ago, or even as a companion to the full-scale cars they own today. Here, world-leading authority Tim Boyd takes you through the entire era of muscle car kits, covering the options, collectability, variety availability, and value of these wonderful kits today. Boyd also takes you through the differences between the original kits, the older reproduction kits, and the new reproduction kits that many people find at swap meets today. If you are looking to build a collection of muscle car kits, interested in getting the kits of your favorite manufacturer or even just of the cars you have owned, this book will be a valuable resource in your model kit search.

In recent years, Chrysler has made waves with a series of dramatic new show cars, exciting production vehicles like the Prowler and Viper, and its mega-merger with German juggernaut Daimler-Benz. It is generally accepted that Chrysler is the most forward-thinking of the Big Three American automakers, yet the company also has a wonderfully compelling past. Just in time to mark Chrysler's 75th anniversary, this beautifully illustrated history takes readers on a journey that spans the company's genesis in the 1920s to present. Marvelous archival black-and-white photography is accompanied by nostalgic period color imagery, print ads, and new color photography of classics. The story includes model from Doge, Plymouth, Imperial, and DeSoto, while sidebars highlight key figures and stunning feats of engineering and styling.

As the 19th century morphed into the 20th, the automobile was still in its infancy, yet more and more manufacturers were entering the burgeoning market. The first National Automobile Show was held in New York City’s Madison Square in 1900, with 51 exhibitors showing off their wares to almost 50,000 visitors. Many of these manufacturers dropped by the wayside or were merged into other companies so that by the end of the 1920s the industry was dominated by the Big Three of Chrysler, Ford, and General Motors. The vehicle that had the biggest impact was the Ford Model T (which arrived in 1908 and more than 15 million had been sold by the time production ceased in 1927), but many other American classics are covered in this book: legends such as the Ford Mustang and Thunderbird, the Chevrolet Bel Air and Corvette, Cadillac’s De Ville and Eldorado, along with names of a bygone era such as Packard, Studebaker, and the unrivaled opulence of Duesenberg.
