Are you the only one who cleans in your house? Do you constantly pick up items around the house (that normally aren't yours ) and move them to where they belong? Is it your job to know that everyone's clothes (and everything else everyone needs to walk out the front door) are ready for the next day? Are your family members always asking you where their things are? Most cleaning books will tell you to go it alone, and teach you tricks or shortcuts to make it more "enjoyable" or efficient. They show you a better way to do the job. Team Clean is different. Gone are the days of cleaning alone. It's not all on you anymore Carol Paul will teach you how to create a team made up of every member of your household. You will learn how to get that very team to clean your home for you once a week, all while creating a tradition that will change your family forever. Carol shares her simple step-by-step ways to make it happen, regardless of age, ability, or attitude. You will be amazed that you will finish the whole house in less than an hour without cleaning any other night of the week. She will help you create your own personal family-bonding element (she calls it "the reward"), and show you the life lessons and discipline you will instill in your children as a result. You could very well get back the family you dreamed of when you got married and first had kids

Sweet and Clean? challenges the widely held beliefs on bathing and cleanliness in the past. For over thirty years, the work of the French historian, George Vigarello, has been hugely influential on early modern European social history, describing an aversion to water and bathing, and the use of linen underwear as the sole cleaning agent for the body. However, these concepts do not apply to early modern England. Sweet and Clean? analyses etiquette and medical literature, revealing repeated recommendations to wash or bathe in order to clean the skin. Clean linen was essential for propriety but advice from medical experts was contradictory. Many doctors were convinced that it prevented the spread of contagious diseases, but others recommended flannel for undergarments, and a few thought changing a fever patient's linens was dangerous. The methodology of material culture helps determine if and how this advice was practiced. Evidence from inventories, household accounts and manuals, and surviving linen garments tracks underwear through its life-cycle of production, making, wearing, laundering, and final recycling. Although the material culture of washing bodies is much sparser, other sources, such as the Old Bailey records, paint a more accurate picture of cleanliness in early modern England than has been previously described. The contrasting analyses of linen and bodies reveal what histories material culture best serves. Finally, what of the diseases-plague, smallpox, and typhus-that cleanliness of body and clothes were thought to prevent? Did following early modern medical advice protect people from these illnesses?

This book sets out on a compelling exploration of IAQ, delving into the intricacies of what constitutes clean and healthy air within our indoor spaces. It aims to empower readers with knowledge, insights, and practical solutions to enhance their understanding and take meaningful action to improve the air they breathe. Throughout these pages, we will unravel the mysteries surrounding IAQ, dissecting the sources, pollutants, and potential health effects that can arise from poor air quality. With a keen focus on education, we will navigate the different aspects of IAQ assessment, providing guidance on how to identify potential risks and understand measurement techniques. We will shed light on the significance of monitoring and how it can shape our decisions and actions to ensure the air we breathe is healthy and safe. While exploring the book, you will encounter various chapters dedicated to the common indoor pollutants that plague our indoor spaces. We will uncover the secrets behind volatile organic compounds (VOCs), particulate matter, mold, radon, and other pollutants that can silently compromise our health and well-being. Moreover, we will examine their sources and equip you with the tools to mitigate and control them. Our journey will continue by focusing on the strategies and technologies available to improve IAQ. From effective ventilation systems to advanced air filtration and purification methods, we will explore a myriad of solutions that can transform the quality of the air we breathe. We will delve into design considerations, sustainability practices, and regulations that shape the IAQ landscape. As we progress through the book, we will highlight the importance of awareness and education in cultivating a culture of healthy indoor environments. Cleanliness is next to enlightenment. In this Japanese bestseller a Buddhist monk explains the traditional cleaning techniques that will help cleanse not only your house - but your soul. 'We remove dust to sweep away our worldly desires. We scrub dirt to free ourselves of attachments. We live simply and take time to contemplate the self, mindfully living each moment. It's not just monks that need to live this way. Everyone in today's busy world today needs it. The Zen sect of Buddhism is renowned for the cleanliness of its monks, but cleaning is greatly valued in Japanese Buddhism in general as a way to cultivate the mind. In this book, I introduce everyday cleaning methods typically employed in temples, while sharing what it's like to be a monk in training. This book will improve the condition not just of your own mind, but also the people around you. I hope readers will discover that cleanliness is an opportunity to contemplate oneself.'
