In 1919 the Prussian Ministry of Science, Arts and Culture opened a dossier on "Einstein's Theory of Relativity." It was rediscovered by the author in 1961 and is used in conjunction with numerous other subsequently identified 'Einstein' files as the basis of this fascinating book. In particular, the author carefully scrutinizes Einstein's FBI file from 1950-55 against mostly unpublished material from European including Soviet sources and presents hitherto unknown documentation on Einstein's alleged contacts with the German Communist Party and the Comintern. Siegfried Grundmann's thorough study of Einstein's participation on a committee of the League of Nations, based on archival research in Geneva, is also new. This book outlines Einstein's image in politics and German science policy. It covers the period from his appointment as a researcher in Berlin to his fight abroad against the "boycott of German science" after World War I and his struggle at home against attacks on "Jewish physics" of which he was made a prime target. An important gap in the literature on Einstein is thus filled, contributing much new material toward a better understanding of Einstein's so rigorous break with Germany.

Einstein’s Design transports the reader via the world of physics, religion, psychology and romance on a journey of mystery, murder, intrigue and surprise that answers the eternal God question. Too soon after the horrifying BTK fiasco of twenty five years in Wichita, Kansas, another and more terrifying threat faces the people in that city. Not one citizen of Wichita would have anticipated that the Ku Klux Klan, allied with the Evangelical Fundamentalist Christian Right, would bring violence and fear once again to their city. A depraved partnership between the Klan and the radical fundamentalist Christian right is formed in an effort to condemn and destroy the secret cosmos theory developed by Albert Einstein and Bahartiya Bharti; a theory of pre-Big Bang existence and the truth about the idea of God! The evil begins when Kamala Bharti, a young Physics Professor at Friends University in Wichita, Kansas and grand-daughter of Dr. Bahartiya Bharti, is brutally assaulted because of her outspoken position regarding certain Christian religious beliefs.

Albert Einstein re-wrote the textbooks of science in 1905: physics since has been little more than a series of footnotes to the theories of a 26-year-old patent-office clerk. Einstein's science and emotional life come together in this vivid portrait of a rebellious and contradictory figure, a pacifist whose legendary equation E=mc2 opened scientists' eyes to the terrible power within every atom.

Albert Einstein is an icon of the twentieth century. Born in Ulm, Germany, in 1879, he is most famous for his theory of relativity. He also made enormous contributions to quantum mechanics and cosmology, and for his work he was awarded the Nobel Prize in 1921. A self-pronounced pacifist, humanist, and, late in his life, democratic socialist, Einstein was also deeply concerned with the social impact of his discoveries. Much of Einstein's life is shrouded in legend. From popular images and advertisements to various works of theater and fiction, he has come to signify so many things. In Einstein: A Biography, Jürgen Neffe presents a clear and probing portrait of the man behind the myth. Unearthing new documents, including a series of previously unknown letters from Einstein to his sons, which shed new light on his role as a father, Neffe paints a rich portrait of the tumultuous years in which Einstein lived and worked. And with a background in the sciences, he describes and contextualizes Einstein's enormous contributions to our scientific legacy. Einstein, a breakout bestseller in Germany, is sure to be a classic biography of the man and proverbial genius who has been called "the brain of the [twentieth] century."

Music brings great joy to many of us. But its other benefits often go underappreciated. Numerous studies and historical anecdotes highlight how powerfully music alters the human mind. Two characteristics drive most of music’s cognitive benefits: It builds a faster highway between the right and left sides of the brain, enabling greater cooperation between the logical and the creative. It also creates a vast mesh of connectivity within the brain, like a microcosm of the World Wide Web. In a fascinating study, Douglas Wadle celebrates the juxtaposition of art and science while examining music’s influence on humanity’s understanding of our place in the universe. Tracing the millennia-old love affair between music and science, Wadle chronicles the surprising ubiquity of musical training among history’s greatest thinkers. He shines a spotlight on the intertwining stories of pattern and form and how they complement one another in our search for creativity and insight. Einstein’s Violin relies on extensive research to tell the story of how music impacts the pattern recognition software in our brains, facilitating more creative problem solving. Without digression into technical treatise, it focuses on the historical stories that best display music’s beautiful interaction with mind and universe.

With its present set in the summer of 1985 and its past reaching from 1950 to 1974, Einstein’s Fiddle is a dramatic examination of Davy Calhoun’s journey from home to the far country and back. The language and landscape of the novel vary between the existential and familial, tragic and comic, as the non-linear narrative – by turns realistic, lyrical, magical – focuses fearlessly on Davy’s fall, dishonor and redemption.
