La sociedad del Siglo XXI ha sumado a los problemas habituales de generaciones anteriores, otros que cuestionan la realidad de Dios, saturando con ello al ser humano de inquietud y desazón existencial. Y para ellos, encontrar al Dios trascendente, es la única respuesta. El mensaje central de Crabb, como tan acertadamente lo describe Charles Stanley, otro renombrado autor, es tan sorprendente como revolucionario: En vez de pretender manipular a Dios buscando una solución mágica a tus problemas, utiliza tus problemas como vía para descubrir la naturaleza del verdadero Dios. Partiendo de esta premisa, el propósito del presente libro es corregir nuestra visión errónea de Dios, de nosotros mismos, de los demás, y por supuesto, de nuestros problemas. Desmonta por entero la imagen deformada y estereotipada de un Dios milagrero, del que podemos lograr cualquier cosa mediante "trucos" religiosos, al que acudimos en plan trueque, cuando nos vemos envueltos en dificultades, pretendiendo que nos las resuelva. Omnipresente, todopoderoso, clemente, bueno y amoroso, pero trascendente; al que no cabe acercarse buscando arrancarle soluciones inmediatas en provecho propio, sino ajustándose a su voluntad para descubrir en sus más altos pensamientos los planes y propósitos para de cada uno. Crabb no se corta cuando afirma que dar mayor prioridad a resolver nuestros problemas que a buscar a Dios, es una inmoralidad.
