In 'The Big Book of Christmas Treasure Tales', Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson compiles an expansive anthology of the most beloved Yuletide narratives, encompassing a variety of genres including novels, short stories, poems, and carols that have shaped the literary canon of Christmas. Readers will discover a rich tapestry of festive classics, from the poignant 'The Gift of the Magi' by O. Henry to the venerable verses of 'Ring Out, Wild Bells' by Alfred Lord Tennyson. Bjørnson's curatorial finesse is evident as he interweaves timeless works with lesser-known gems, all while capturing the diverse cultural essence of Christmas through the prism of literature. The collection is presented with an eye for both literary quality and seasonal charm, offering an immersive experience into the spirit of the holiday. Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson, a revered figure in Norwegian literature and a Nobel laureate, perhaps found inspiration for creating this collection from his own engagement with themes of identity, community, and tradition — concepts deeply entwined with the Christmas season. His personal literary footprint, characterized by a poetic realism and national romanticism, echoes through the selections, hinting at the universal longing for warmth, generosity, and connection during the holiday period. By encompassing works from international literary greats, Bjørnson underscores the shared human experiences central to Christmas, transcending any one tradition or geography. 'The Big Book of Christmas Treasure Tales' is a must-read for aficionados of classic literature and anyone looking to rekindle their holiday spirit. It is a literary hearth around which readers of all ages can gather, finding solace and joy in tales that celebrate the profound simplicity and deep complexities of the human experience. It is an invitation to revisit the storied past of Christmas traditions and to instill new memories with the turn of each page. For the literary connoisseur and the Christmas enthusiast alike, this anthology is a treasured addition to any winter library, promising to delight and inspire for generations to come.

Christmas Treasures celebrates the Chrisitan holiday over a three year period through the eyes of a delightful trio of little girls caught up in the spirit of loving life enjoyed within and among several generations of their family. Set in a Currier & Ives'' comforting winter festival atmosphere replete with reminiscent emotional images, excittement and expectation run high as the events and episodes as the treasured holiday unfolds. The children''s antics involve fun and frolic for the entire family; a warming thread of love laces through and binds the story together involving each aspect of the annual celebration including food, decorations, gifts, love and more. Book I: Christmas Magic! Finds the family last minute shopping for that just so perfect gift, then wrapping each thoughtful treasure in bright paper secured with gold and silver ribbon and bows, finally carefully secreting them in a hidden cache for the impatiently awaited big event. Winter activities bring the participants together in loving celebration; it is the true understanding of "To give is better than to receive" which permeates the individual members'' ambition for the season while lending insight to the real meaning of Christmas. Festive decorations include the tradition of a glowing tree, a house respendent with tasteful touches of concern, dinner fit for any royalty and an overriding sincere love among the family of warm comforting acceptance. The big surprise is revealed at the very end of the tale as the girls get an upclose lesson in how even the very best gift can be even much better than expected. Book II: Christmas Perfect! Brings the family closer than they ever might have imagined possible. The quaint little village near the family farm becomes vibrant with Christmas displays imparting warm memories for the parties to retain and cherish for years to come. A riddle presents itself and it takes a bit of clever detective work to unravel the enigma. When a mirror image diamond ring magically appears, the subtle characteristics of the grandfather and his handsome grandson emerge; the white mantle of "Head of the family" silently passes right before the very eyes of the celebrants, without notice, save for one. A metaphoric "The king is dead" quietly slips into a physical "Long live the king" one act auspicious play to the delight of all involved. Book III: Christmas Perpetual! Sees the growing of the happy family on the very day of the Christ child''s birth celebration. Charity begins at home becomes the theme of the escapades of Bapa and Z. Tyler as they deliver much needed presents to a dear friend who lives on the mountain. Even the best laid plans of good people sometimes go on unexpected tangencies. Whoever heard of an improvised "Rodeo" demonstration at the base of a mountain in a blizzard on Christmas Eve? But, for a Christian family intent on living a reverent life under the sacred terms of "Thy will be done", all is indeed well that ends well, save a few bumps and bruises. The boy proves his manly manner and the man makes way for the new generation to assume his natural authority. Though a slight detour develops, nothing can deter this Christian family from its appointed celebration of the best of seasons. The little girls present their Christmas pagaent with a reenactment of the "Silent Night!" solemn event as family, friends and neighbors join the festivities. "And...unto them a Child is born!" Indeed! Faith! Family! Freedom! fFnds life and earnest celebration of tradition in three tales of Christian love of God, one another and country. You, the reader, are cordially invited to join the celebration. Bring the children to the fireplace, enjoy a true family experience, share the treasured memories from your past, extend warmth and good cheer and holiday true magic with those most dear and with any stranger in need of some good old-fashioned uplifting. Life is for the living; love for the sharing, laughter for the heart. Enjoy! Merry Christmas!
