Particles In Flows written by Tomáš Bodnár and has been published by Birkhäuser this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017-09-30 with Mathematics categories.
This book aims to face particles in flows from many different, but essentially interconnected sides and points of view. Thus the selection of authors and topics represented in the chapters, ranges from deep mathematical analysis of the associated models, through the techniques of their numerical solution, towards real applications and physical implications. The scope and structure of the book as well as the selection of authors was motivated by the very successful summer course and workshop "Particles in Flows'' that was held in Prague in the August of 2014. This meeting revealed the need for a book dealing with this specific and challenging multidisciplinary subject, i.e. particles in industrial, environmental and biomedical flows and the combination of fluid mechanics, solid body mechanics with various aspects of specific applications.

Computational Techniques For Multiphase Flows written by Guan Heng Yeoh and has been published by Elsevier this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2009-10-07 with Computers categories.
Mixed or multiphase flows of solid/liquid or solid/gas are commonly found in many industrial fields, and their behavior is complex and difficult to predict in many cases. The use of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) has emerged as a powerful tool for the understanding of fluid mechanics in multiphase reactors, which are widely used in the chemical, petroleum, mining, food, beverage and pharmaceutical industries. Computational Techniques for Multiphase Flows enables scientists and engineers to the undertand the basis and application of CFD in muliphase flow, explains how to use the technique, when to use it and how to interpret the results and apply them to improving aplications in process enginering and other multiphase application areas including the pumping, automotive and energy sectors. - Understandable guide to a complex subject - Important in many industries - Ideal for potential users of CFD

Multiphysics Modelling Of Fluid Particulate Systems written by Hassan Khawaja and has been published by Academic Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2020-03-18 with Technology & Engineering categories.
Multiphysics Modelling of Fluid-Particulate Systems provides an explanation of how to model fluid-particulate systems using Eulerian and Lagrangian methods. The computational cost and relative merits of the different methods are compared, with recommendations on where and how to apply them provided. The science underlying the fluid-particulate phenomena involves computational fluid dynamics (for liquids and gases), computational particle dynamics (solids), and mass and heat transfer. In order to simulate these systems, it is essential to model the interactions between phases and the fluids and particles themselves. This book details instructions for several numerical methods of dealing with this complex problem. This book is essential reading for researchers from all backgrounds interested in multiphase flows or fluid-solid modeling, as well as engineers working on related problems in chemical engineering, food science, process engineering, geophysics or metallurgical processing.

Particles Bubbles Drops written by Efstathios Michaelides and has been published by World Scientific this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2006 with Science categories.
The field of multiphase flows has grown by leaps and bounds in the last thirty years and is now regarded as a major discipline. Engineering applications, products and processes with particles, bubbles and drops have consistently grown in number and importance. An increasing number of conferences, scientific fora and archived journals are dedicated to the dissemination of information on flow, heat and mass transfer of fluids with particles, bubbles and drops. Numerical computations and OC thought experimentsOCO have supplemented most physical experiments and a great deal of the product design and testing processes. The literature on computational fluid dynamics with particles, bubbles and drops has grown at an exponential rate, giving rise to new results, theories and better understanding of the transport processes with particles, bubbles and drops. This book captures and summarizes all these advances in a unified, succinct and pedagogical way. Sample Chapter(s). Chapter 1: Introduction (600 KB). Contents: Fundamental Equations and Characteristics of Particles, Bubbles and Drops; Low Reynolds Number Flows; High Reynolds Number Flows; Non-Spherical Particles, Bubbles and Drops; Effects of Rotation, Shear and Boundaries; Effects of Turbulence; Electro-Kinetic, Thermo-Kinetic and Porosity Effects; Effects of Higher Concentration and Collisions; Molecular and Statistical Modeling; Numerical Methods-CFD. Readership: Researchers, practicing engineers and physicists that deal with any aspects of Multiphase Flows. It will also be of interest to academics and researchers in the general fields of mechanical and chemical engineering."

1. Objective and Scope Bubbles, drops and rigid particles occur everywhere in life, from valuable industrial operations like gas-liquid contracting, fluidized beds and extraction to such vital natural processes as fermentation, evaporation, and sedimentation. As we become increasingly aware of their fundamental role in industrial and biological systems, we are driven to know more about these fascinating particles. It is no surprise, therefore, that their practical and theoretical implications have aroused great interest among the scientific community and have inspired a growing number of studies and publications. Over the past ten years advances in the field of small Reynolds numbers flows and their technological and biological applications have given rise to several definitive monographs and textbooks in the area. In addition, the past three decades have witnessed enormous progress in describing quantitatively the behaviour of these particles. However, to the best of our knowledge, there are still no available books that reflect such achievements in the areas of bubble and drop deformation, hydrodynamic interactions of deformable fluid particles at low and moderate Reynolds numbers and hydrodynamic interactions of particles in oscillatory flows. Indeed, only one more book is dedicated entirely to the behaviour of bubbles, drops and rigid particles ["Bubbles, Drops and Particles" by Clift et al. (1978)] and the authors state its limitations clearly in the preface: "We treat only phenomena in which particle-particle interactions are of negligible importance. Hence, direct application of the book is limited to single-particle systems of dilute suspensions.

Treating multiphase systems with emphasis on the aspect of fluid dynamics and as an introduction to research in multiphase flow, this book covers definitive concepts, methods, and theories which have been validated by experimental results. A textbook for college seniors and graduate students and a research reference, it is a coherent presentation that facilitates the understanding of physical interactions. The book's focus is fluid dynamics, with extension to other transport processes of heat and mass transfer, and chemical relations to illustrate applications of multiphase flow. The exercise problems at the end of each chapter assist the reader in formulating and solving physical problems and gaining a sense of magnitude of interacting effects and events. Extended details and corollaries are also included in these exercise problems. Some of the topics in the exercise problems may also be incorporated as topics for the lectures.
