Value Creation and its effects on Transfer Pricing and tax law Emerging from the OECD/G20 BEPS Project, a new, somewhat fuzzy notion of Value Creation came to permeate not only Transfer Pricing language but also wider allocation rules and anti-abuse provisions in international tax law. The notion of ‘Value Creation’ reframes the interpretation and application of the Arm’s Length Principle (ALP) that is embedded in Articles 7 and 9 of the OECD Model Convention. This new Value Creation notion and approach assist in understanding key enterprise functions while different industry sectors manifest these concepts in various ways. Situating such notions and this approach within the law of tax treaties and analyzing terms of the OECD Transfer Pricing Guidelines alongside their factual context is the aim of this book. Here, law students address Transfer Pricing and Value Creation in sectors as varied as commodities trade, automotive, consumer products, food and beverages, pharmaceutical and life sciences, telecommunications, and the key topic of value creation in a digitalized economy. Our LL.M. students were required to address issues not explored in legal research and to discuss factual topics relevant for Transfer Pricing. All students focused on topics that are new to the international tax debate that keep evolving and on factual matters that often escape legal research.

Napoleon Hill was a renowned author and thinker who developed important concepts for personal and professional success. Its fundamental ideas include the importance of self-discipline, self-confidence, self-motivation, focus, persistence and positive thinking to achieve goals. He emphasized the importance of building solid relationships, dealing with challenges in a resilient way and constantly seeking personal development. In summary, Napoleon Hill's teachings highlight the need for a positive and proactive mindset, combined with diligent and strategic action, to overcome obstacles and achieve success in various areas of life. In this e-book are some general tips for applying Hill's teachings for self-confidence/positive self-image. Don't give up on your goals, even when things get difficult. Hill's method is a widely used technique in cryptography, particularly for breaking simple substitution ciphers. While effective in many cases, a comprehensive understanding of the factors contributing to its success remains elusive. This work explores the structure of the key space in substitution ciphers and analyzes how Hill's method navigates this space. Using a combination of mathematical analysis and computational experiments, we reveal that the effectiveness of Hill's method is strongly correlated with the frequency distribution of letters in the ciphertext and the degree of deviation from a uniform distribution. Our findings provide a deeper understanding of the vulnerabilities of substitution ciphers and offer insights into designing more robust encryption schemes.

The first thought after any arrest is usually, how long will it take to get out? Whether in jail or prison, your sole focus is getting out. Recent statistics shows that three out of every four persons incarcerated always end up returning behind bars within the first three years of release. A large percentage of these people are from low-income communities where access to financial capital, education, and job opportunities are limited, and family ends up getting stuck in a deep cycle of poverty that they found extremely difficult to break out from. Arrested for crimes often sponsored by poverty and the dire economic conditions that defined them, they are taken through a criminal justice system that is far more interested in keeping them in the poverty-incarceration cycle than rehabilitating them and giving them a better chance at life. With no income and criminal history after release, they are unable to pay for food, housing, and health needs. And what happens eventually? They slip back into a life of crime, and the cycle continues. It is high time we nullified this poverty-incarceration two-feeder system. How? By dealing with the root, which is poverty. So how do you break the cycle of poverty? You may want to get out of jail or prison but are you ready to get out of poverty. How? The answers are found here in learning how to experience your own economic development post-incarceration. Do you feel stuck? Are you tired of going in and out of jail? Or are you an ex-offender who have found it difficult to progress because of barriers associated with your criminal history? This book is the clear road map to creating generational wealth and living the kind of life you deserve. This book is the guide to finding a way up not just a way out.

From the bottom to the top of our economy, capitalism is too blunt an instrument to tackle Britain's epidemic of inequality. Soaring rents, unfair taxation and a growing gig economy have brought about unprecedented economic shame: Amazon warehouse workers living in tents, nurses turning to foodbanks, London firemen commuting hundreds of miles to work. Even those higher up the ladder are losing their grip on the life they were promised. Barristers take home less than the minimum wage and doctors are starting out with £100,000 student debts on salaries lower than the national average. We’re all facing a new economic phenomenon – in-work poverty. At the same time a generation of young professionals is coming to terms with never being able to own even the cheapest home in their area.
