London’s suburbs. Latin America’s megacities. West Africa’s villages. China’s skyscrapers. North America’s homes. Addiction is a worldwide and at home epidemic. A powerful look at the gospel for the addicted, Hope in Addiction helps us think about what it means to be the Church in light of this growing—and heartbreaking—epidemic. How did we get here? And how can we find freedom from addiction? This book is not just about drug or alcohol abuse. It’s about gambling addictions, porn dependencies, workaholism, and internet addictions. It’s a book about how slaves to addiction become children of the Living God and family in the community of God. Wherever they are. Whatever has enslaved them. With clarity and compassion, Andy Partington brings together personal stories, compelling research, and frontline ministry experience. This book is for Christian leaders, influencers, counselors, and educators. For the friends and family of those gripped by addiction. And, for those who themselves battle addiction. This book is for all of us. There is hope in addiction. Hope for freedom. Hope for wholeness. Hope for eternity.

THE DISAPPEARING follows the author's family through even more trauma than she wrote about in her first book DESTINATION...SANITY. This story is based on true situations in Nancy's family. You will feel the love, concern, and fear that she experienced as more people in her family got sucked into the addiction quagmire. As her book begins, her older son Rick has beaten his addictions to opiates, yet he continues to use alcohol, nicotine, and probably a little weed. He is already gone, having died in his own swimming pool. Her younger son Josh chose alcohol as his drug of choice, beginning in high school. She watched helplessly as his health deteriorated in his late thirties. She explores the agony of watching her son suffer through his alcoholism and into medical conditions which he could not overcome. A granddaughter, Riley, started to experiment with drugs as a teenager. She eventually smoked, swallowed, and shot up anything she could get. She wanted to feel what her mom felt as she died of an accidental drug overdose when Riley was ten. She wanted to be with her mom. Riley nearly achieved that goal several times as she experienced addiction, homelessness, and rape. This is a good read not only for addicts, their friends and families, but also for professionals who work with addicts.

The Lord is my Shepherd. He leads me beside still waters ... Psalm 23:1-2 When our children are in the bondage of addiction, it seems impossible to find any peace in our lives. Instead of still waters, we feel as if we are in the middle of a roaring river. Beside Still Waters: Discovering Peace in the Midst of Your Child's Addiction deals with topics such as denial, worry, enabling, guilt feelings, codependency, legal issues, signs of addiction, and more. Although written from a mother's heart to other mothers, the book can also be helpful for fathers or anyone who loves someone in addiction. "Although Cherri was raised in a family known for pioneering Christian recovery ministry, the snare of addiction became a very personal issue when it invaded the lives of her children. This book is psychologically informed, biblically based, and grace oriented. It will be a useful tool to help equip parents to model and promote freedom in Christ." --Dr. John Woodward, Director of Grace Fellowship International, Pigeon Forge, TN. "For families that are being torn apart by addiction, there is hope in Jesus Christ. He desires to lead moms "Beside Still Waters" to whisper that message of hope to their aching hearts. Cherri Raws Freeman understands firsthand how addiction can destroy a family member. She has experienced hope and now wants to share that hope with you." --Dr. Bill Welte, President/CEO America's Keswick
