“A fast-paced debut… A candid, modern take on polyamory for fans of memoirs and graphic novels, and anyone interested in stories of dating, love, and romance.” —Library Journal After trying for years to emulate her boomer parents’ forty-year and still-going-strong marriage, Sophie realized that maybe the love she was looking for was down a road less traveled. In this bold, graphic memoir, she explores her sexuality, her values, and the versions of love our society accepts and practices. Along the way, she shares what it’s like to play on Tinder side-by-side with your boyfriend, encounter—and surmount—many types of jealousy, learn the power of female friendship, and other amazing things that happened when she stopped looking for “the one.” In a lot of ways, Many Love is Sophie’s love letter to everyone she has ever cared for. Witty, insightful, and complete with illustrations, this debut provides a memorable glimpse into an unconventional life.

Not Many Love Poems tells the stories of a life, the stories kept close to the heart: long friendships and shorter love affairs, close bonds of family scattered across transatlantic distances, passion and loss. Loved friends and family, the living, the dead: vital presences. From recollections of childhood and adolescence on Long Island to warm, unsentimental evocations of the new life-stage of grandparenthood, from adventures with lovers to a journey through breast cancer treatment, Linda Chase writes of a life richly lived, with wit, candour and a feisty energy. At the centre of the collection is a sequence of poems composed during a close friend's final year. An account of grief and love, it celebrates the gift of 'numberless, glorious, blessed days', in which our stories 'give themselves away'.

What do we actually talk about when we talk about love? Research on love and emotions has been met with suspicion although people live in a network of relationships from birth to death, and the ability to build and maintain relationships is an important strength. This book provides a comprehensive research-based analysis of love in human life: romantic love and its ups and downs, and the fascination of love, the combination of work and family, the secrets of a long-lasting marriage, senior love, and the throes and relief of a divorce. Love is also discussed in relation to other phenomena, such as friendship, play, and creativity. In addition, themes of parental love and pedagogical love, and the ability to love, as well as dark sides of love are introduced. Love is worth cherishing and practicing. Other people’s experiences may be helpful, and information about the nature of love can relieve the pain. Thus, love, in its various forms, makes the best health insurance! This book is meant for everyone interested in love but also for professionals in various fields, such as psychologists, educators, and couple and family counselors. The book is based on authors Prof. Kaarina Määttä’s and Dr. Satu Uusiautti’s extensive research on love at the University of Lapland, Finland.

This collection of stories covers the various facets of love: the way we feel for the different people we encounter, and the way in which love evolves for spouses, parents, children, and friends. God gave mankind the ability to love; however, life gives us changes and challenges. The things which test us throughout our lives also sway the depth of our devotion. As if it came from the separate, yet connected, chambers in our hearts, love is different for every person and every circumstance. We are a compilation of events, and the memories we carry affect our choices and ability to feel and express love. Most of us will fi nd it; some of us may embrace it, and others might never know love at all. As varied as the locales, the main characters in each story speak for themselves. Some are rich, and some are poor, but most of them are simply common people. They are young and old, male and female. If you look closely, you may even fi nd a spirit or a pixie hiding betwixt the pages.

'Will I wake up?' 'There's a 50:50 chance.' Michael Rosen wasn't feeling well. Soon he was struggling to breathe, and then he was admitted to hospital, suffering from coronavirus as the nation teetered on the edge of a global pandemic. What followed was months on the wards: six weeks in an induced coma, and many more weeks of rehab and recovery as the NHS saved Michael's life, and then got him back on his feet. Throughout Michael's stay in intensive care, a notebook lay at the end of his bed, where the nurses who cared for him wrote letters of hope and support. Cynthia never knew that love could be free and whole until she came across love in its purest form. Battered and embittered by unfortunate experiences even from a very tender age, she was hardened and lonely, sad and in a shell. Paul and Edmond are men who define their own quality and create their own world. Standing out in their own unique mixes of strength, wealth, and good looks, still they are more than those aspects, and it is simply a matter of the heart before either of them can break in through Cynthias walls. Pauls love was soul-tearing, Edmonds mind-splitting. Okechukwu is a boy with mature instincts born out of the sheer power of innocence. As protective as he is, his love for Cynthia will have no end, even as circumstances accelerate his journey to the parents he has always missed. Lady D., even though she is greatly in the picture, never really knows she has a lot to offeruntil she utilizes a heaven-sent opportunity she has never regretted. Even Father Phoebus feels the same and would never finish recounting his awesome experience in Nigeria. Dike, Onochie, and Ofor may never tell how destiny outmaneuvered and manipulated them, despite their skill, cleverness, and plots. Mama Ngozi is one woman that, in her next life, might just ask to be blessed with mercy, no matter how little. As for Susan, love lives and life goes on, even more bountifully in the hereafter. One Love, Many Tears is an expansive collection of hatred, greed, murder, apathy, poverty, and hypocrisy, yet it is a symphony of love, refinement, power, self-identity, passion, and altruism. All beautifully harmonized in one piece!

The story, "Love Comes in Many Colors" starts in 1875 as the McGinnis family, of Irish decent, starts west by wagon train. After wintering over in Santa Fe, in the New Mexico Territory, the family moves to the small mountainous mining town of Silver City which was in the southwest part of the territory. The story also entails the Christian community who work together to care for the sick, hungry and homeless people in the town, and their everyday lives as they face the dangers within the mining town. I was born in a small town in Southern California. When I was fifty years old, my family moved to New Mexico; first into the desert, and then to the mountainous mining town of Silver City. Now, living in the old west of the cowboy era, I became fascinated with the history of the area. From that, I began to form a story in my mind, about an Irish family that came west, arriving in 1875. I am now eighty-three years young, and have thoroughly enjoyed my adventure in writing this novel; "Love Comes in Many Colors".

“Once you start reading, be prepared, because you won’t want to stop.” —Oprah Winfrey OPRAH’S BOOK CLUB PICK • New York Times bestselling author Lara Love Hardin recounts her slide from soccer mom to opioid addict to jailhouse shot caller and her unlikely comeback as a highly successful ghostwriter in this harrowing, hilarious, no-holds-barred memoir. No one expects the police to knock on the door of the million-dollar two-story home of the perfect cul-de-sac housewife. But soccer mom Lara Love Hardin has been hiding a shady secret: she is funding her heroin addiction by stealing her neighbors’ credit cards. Lara is convicted of thirty-two felonies and becomes inmate S32179. She finds that jail is a class system with a power structure that is somewhere between an adolescent sleepover party and Lord of the Flies. Furniture is made from tampon boxes, and Snickers bars are currency. But Lara quickly learns the rules and brings love and healing to her fellow inmates as she climbs the social ladder and acquires the nickname “Mama Love,” showing that jailhouse politics aren’t that different from the PTA meetings she used to attend. When she’s released, she reinvents herself as a ghostwriter. Now, she’s legally co-opting other people’s identities and getting to meet Oprah, meditate with the Dalai Lama, and have dinner with Archbishop Desmond Tutu. But the shadow of her past follows her. Shame is a poison worse than heroin—there is no way to detox. Lara must learn how to forgive herself and others, navigate life as a felon on probation, and prove to herself that she is more good than bad, among other essential lessons. The Many Lives of Mama Love is a heartbreaking and tender journey from shame to redemption, despite a system that makes it almost impossible for us to move beyond the worst thing we have ever done.
