Welome back to the Vault of Secrets. There'll be devil bats, ape fiends, space invaders, black cats, old dark houses, invisible dinosaurs, cat people, giant rabbits, monster skeletons, and a whole lot more! Beginning with a 1926 precursor to Frankenstein made by "the world's greatest director" and ending with Toho's infamous "Bloodthirsty Trilogy" of Dracula movies, Revenge of Monsters from the Vault is a reminder that every good monster deserves a sequel or three. So dim the lights, grab some more popcorn, and get ready for another feature presentation...

Graphic Novel. "EC Comics" ("Entertaining Comics") were all published from the late 1940s until around 1956, when the Comics Code Authority whitewashed all comic books to remove all themes of horror and violence. Psychiatrist Fredric Wertham and Senator Estes Kefauver's Committee on Juvenile Delinquency attacked horror comics as causes of the rise in juvenile delinquency and crimes by minors. These comic books were accused of having no redeeming value to society and were effectively banned by the actions of these groups in creating the Comics Code. "EC Comics" were superior to other comics of the 1950s because of a higher quality of writing and artwork, and they were widely imitated by other comics publishers. The subject matter for "EC Comics" were horror, science fiction/fantas- y, crime stories, war stories, and stories with a social message that generally had a twist or "shock" ending. This volume reprints the first six complete issues (24 stories) of the comic book "The Vault of Horror", originally published in 1950 and 1951, and features classic horror stories of vampires, werewolves, ghouls and monsters in the vein of the early "Dracula", "Frankenstein" and "Wolf Man" movies.

The Men Who Made The Monsters written by Paul M. Jensen and has been published by Twayne Publishers this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1996 with Performing Arts categories.

In the Men Who Made the Monsters, Paul Jensen chronicles the careers of five men who made shamelessly scary, enjoyable, and sometimes classic films: James Whale (whose films include Frankenstein, 1931, and The Invisible Man, 1933), Willis O'Brien (King Kong, 1933; Mighty Joe Young, 1949), Ray Harryhausen (The 7th Voyage of Sinbad, 1958; Jason and the Argonauts, 1963), Terence Fisher (Dracula, 1958; Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed, 1969), and Freddie Francis (The Skull, 1965; Tales That Witness Madness, 1973). Usually working within tight budgets and short production schedules, these three directors (Whale, Fisher, Francis) and two masters of special effects (O'Brien, Harryhausen) turned out films that proved them to be not only skillful craftsmen but artists. In the inhuman, the unearthly, the monstrous, they found and explored the depths of our most human fears and fascinations.
