Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2004 im Fachbereich Biologie - Ökologie, Note: 2.0, Universität Bremen, Veranstaltung: Einführung in den Naturschutz, 20 Quellen im Literaturverzeichnis, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Im Zuge der traditionellen Landwirtschaft, die auf extensiver Nutzung (kein bis wenig Dünger, keine Pestizide, einschürige Mahd, geringer Viehbesatz auf Weide (BUNDESAMT FÜR NATURSCHUTZ, 1998)) beruhte, sind für viele Wiesenvögel geeignete Sekundärlebensräume entstanden. Zuvor wurden jedoch ihre ursprünglichen Habitate wie Moore, Sümpfe und Auenlandschaften durch die Landwirtschaft zerstört. Der seit den 50er Jahren andauernde Strukturwandel in der Landwirtschaft vertreibt die Wiesenvögel nun wieder aus ihrem Lebensraum, nur haben sie jetzt kaum noch eine Ausweichmöglichkeit. Die größte Bedrohung für Feuchtwiesen geht sowohl von der Intensivierung der Nutzung als auch von der Nutzungsaufgabe aus (ARBEITSKREIS FEUCHTWIESENSCHUTZ WESTNIEDERSACHSEN, 1998). Fast alle Vogelarten, die Feuchtgrünland als Brut-, Rast- und Nahrungsplatz aufsuchen, sind auf der „Roten Liste“ verzeichnet (ARBEITSKREIS FEUCHTWIESENSCHUTZ WESTNIEDERSACHSEN, 1998). Niedersachsen hat dabei eine besonders hohe Verantwortung zu tragen, da hier die höchsten Bestände der charakteristischen Wiesenvögel brüten (z. B. 2/3 des deutschen Brutbestandes der Uferschnepfe (BURDORF & SÜDBECK, 2002)). Als Erhaltungsmaßnahmen von Wiesenvogelpopulationen werden Extensivierung, Herstellung mehr oder minder natürlicher Wasserverhältnisse sowie die Schaffung eines dichten Netzes von Lebensräumen für Brut- und Rastvögel angegeben (ARBEITSKREIS FEUCHTWIESENSCHUTZ WESTNIEDERSACHSEN, 1998 ).
