Have you ever wondered what it would be like to accompany St. Paul as he declared the Good News of salvation to thousands who lived in the Mediterranean region? Imagine your satisfaction when the council in Jerusalem mandates limited obligation to the Mosaic Law; and your frustration when the message of this freedom results in defamation and threats of death. Rejoice with Paul as the Roman Consul Gallio declares he is free to teach Jesus as Messiah. Follow Paul into the Antonia Fortress when assaulted by enraged Jews. Listen to his defense before Felix and Festus. Endure a life threatening shipwreck and imprisonment in Rome. Finally, stand by him as he approaches his last days as prisoner under Nero and his death; a victorious transition from a sainted physical life to a blessed and eternal spiritual life. Del Mueller takes readers into the thoughts and hearts of the key witnesses to Paul's missionary journeys. He writes a first person account that provides readers with a unique historical perspective on the stories as they really could have happened. Narratives of St. Paul's Missionary Journeys and Rome will personalize the post-resurrection events that altered the world and show readers the humanness of those who were changed because of Paul's message.

The life and ministry of the apostle Paul was a sprawling adventure covering thousands of miles on Roman roads and treacherous seas as he boldly proclaimed the gospel of Jesus to anyone who would listen, be they commoners or kings. His impact on the church and indeed on Western civilization is immeasurable. From his birth in Tarsus to his rabbinic training in Jerusalem to his final imprisonment in Rome, An Illustrated Guide to the Apostle Paul brings his remarkable story to life. Drawing from the book of Acts, Paul's many letters, and historical and archaeological sources, this fully illustrated resource explores the social, cultural, political, and religious background of the first-century Roman world in which Paul lived and ministered. It sheds light on the places he visited and the people he met along the way. Most importantly, it helps us understand how and why Paul was used by God in such extraordinary ways. Follow the Life and Ministry of Christianity's Leading Missionary. The Apostle Paul is one of the most important figures in the early church. He is a main character in the narrative woven through the book of Acts and his thirteen letters make up a significant portion of the New Testament canon. Because Acts and his letters appear as discrete books in Scripture, it can be difficult to piece together a clear narrative for Paul's life and ministry. In Journeys of the Apostle Paul, 20 contributors present a coherent picture of Paul's life, connecting the events in Acts to his letters and theological teaching. With beautifully rendered maps and timelines, this book takes readers through the Acts narratives of Paul's journeys step by step--his interrupted journey to Damascus while persecuting Christians; his three missionary journeys; and his long journey from Jerusalem to Rome. Along the way, you'll discover new insights into his life, his teaching, and his role in the early church.

Paul follows his introduction with a greeting to the Roman church and expresses his desire to preach in Rome someday. Paul gives a summary of the theme of his letter: "The Gospel...is the power of God for salvation to everyone who has faith, to the Jew first and also to the Greek." The Jewish Christians found they were not the minority within a Gentile church. Paul therefore wrote Romans to encourage the Gentiles to live in harmony with Jewish Christians. Unlike Galatia, it is possible that the only Gentile converts in Rome were God-fearing Gentiles and quite happy with most Jewish practices. These Gentiles we're happy and comfortable with living under the Jewish culture and lifestyle. Converting to Christianity means that you are turning away from evil and more toward the good of this world. "The just shall live by faith" according to Galatians 3:11 and Romans 1:17. The emphasis Martin Luther placed on the Gospel truth in the sixteenth century resulted in the Protestant Reformation. This doctrine of justification by faith brought new life into the Church and became one of the central teachings of the evangelical churches. An understanding of this concept will result in a deeper appreciation of the grace of God, as it comes to us through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Added note of today: Our young people is how we will live and grow up our future generations. Preachers, let's preach the word today. "Every life, all lives-Black, Brown, White, Yellow lives-matter. Faith is our guide."
