This publication accompanies the exhibition Personal Structures in the context of the 57th Biennale di Venezia (11 May - 24 November 2019, Venice, Italy).Initiated in 2002 by the Dutch artist Rene Rietmeyer, the project Personal Structures has exhibited extensively and has been several times an official part of the Venice Biennale.Organised by the European Cultural Centre, this exhibition presents around 200 artists from more than 40 countries. A combination of established artists and others whose oeuvre is less known. However, what they have in common is a dedication to the concepts time, space and existence.Featured artists are Yoko Ono, Hermann Nitsch, Sarah Gold, Arnulf Rainer, Valie Export, Nobuyoshi Araki, and many others.Accompanies the exhibition Personal Structures which is organized by the European Cultural Centre in Venice, Italy in 2019.

As part of the 54th International Art Exhibition- la Biennale di Venezia, Personal Structures, presents 28 artists from 5 continents, representing 12 countries. The exhibition in 24 rooms, brings together an extraordinary combination of established artists next to artists whose oeuvre is less known. What they have in common is a dedication to the concepts Time - Space and Existence. The exhibition is curated by the Dutch curators Karlyn De Jongh and Sarah Gold. Personal Structures is held at Venice's prestigious Palazzo Bembo, by Rialto Bridge on Canal Grande. Each artist in the exhibition presents recent artworks, either site-specific, especially made for this exhibition, or coming directly from the artist's studio. Each room in Palazzo Bembo is dedicated to one single artist. Their strong statements give each of the rooms a very specific atmosphere. The exhibition features a broad variety of artistic media, such as: videos, sculptures, paintings, photos, installations with light, wallpaper and performance. The exhibition 'Personal Structures' is part of an international art project. It was initiated in 2002 by the Dutch artist Rene Rietmeyer, who noticed that even in the most distant corners of the world, there are artists working with Time - Space and Existence, thereby expressing themselves in a very personal way. This observation led to the idea of bringing several of these artists together in publications, exhibitions and symposia.

"This year in the context of the 2017 Venice Biennale, the European Cultural Centre presents presents "PERSONAL STRUCTURES: Open Borders" in two of its Palazzos in Venice: Palazzo Mora and Palazzo Bembo. The exhibition is organised by the GAA Foundation, that since 2002 has organised exhibitions and symposia worldwide and published books highlighting philosophical themes in contemporary art and architecture. In particular the Foundation has expanded the concepts of Time, Space, Existence, bringing artists and architects from various cultural backgrounds and of different ages together. As sincere as possible, the GAA Foundation presents in this exhibition what can be seen as a modest cross section of European visual art in dialogue with many non-European artists. This book constitutes the Proceedings of the conference 'Chemical Structures: The International Language of Chemistry' which was held at Leeuwenhorst Congress Centre, Noordwijkerhout in the Netherlands, between May 31 and June 4, 1987. The conference was jointly sponsored by the Chemical Structure Association, the American Chemical Society Division of Chemical Information, and the Chemical Information Groups of the Royal Society of Chemistry and the German Chemical Society. The purpose of the conference was to bring together experts and an international professional audience to discuss and to further basic and applied research and development in the processing, storage, retrieval and use of chemical structures, to focus international attention on the importance of chemical information and the vital research being carried out in chemical information science and to foster co-operation among major chemical information organisations in North America and Europe. Subjects covered included integrated in-house databases, substructure searching methodology, spectral databanks, new technologies (microcomputers, CD-ROM, parallel processing and expert systems) and chemical reactions. The keynote address was given by Mike Lynch of the University of Sheffield. In this, the opening chapter of the book, Mike discusses progress made in chemical information science in the last fifteen years and describes his own approach to research. In a plenary session, Myra Williams of Merck, Sharp and Dohme considered future trends from the point of view of the information manager and strategic planner in industry. She emphasises the need for integration, open architecture and a uniform user interface.

This book narrates the living conditions and incidence of poverty among households belonging to the different social groups in Kerala, India. Using a micro-level study, it investigates the inter-group variations with regards to the incidence of multidimensional poverty in the sample area, the Kasaragod District, Kerala. The Regional Human Development Enabling Index (RHDEI) and the Multidimensional Poverty Index (MPI) are the main tools used for analysis here. The book highlights the incidence, intensity, and disparity of multidimensional poverty in Kerala, and clearly pinpoints the intra-state mirage of the achievements of Kerala in the dimensions of human development among the social groups living in the state. The book also explores the socio-cultural barriers of these marginalized groups, which should become the focus and concern for policy makers and stakeholders in governance.
