Como resultado de la experiencia docente de más de 20 años impartiendo la asignatura de Psicología Social tanto en la Licenciatura en Psicología, como actualmente en el Grado en Psicología de la Universidad Miguel Hernández, se han elaborado dos libros que recogen los contenidos del programa académico de la asignatura. A lo largo de esa trayectoria, y para la elaboración de los materiales han servido de base los principales manuales desarrollados por autores y autoras de referencia en esta área de conocimiento. Este libro, titulado “Introducción a la Psicología Social y los Procesos Psicosociales”, está compuesto por siete capítulos. El primero de ellos resume brevemente la historia de la Psicología Social y define su objeto de estudio. El segundo se centra en los procesos de socialización, en las normas y los roles. El tercero incluye una aproximación a la complejidad de los procesos de cognición social. El cuarto capítulo, aborda el conocimiento del yo y el autoconcepto, y el quinto los procesos de percepción social y de personas. Se continúa con el capítulo seis incluyendo los procesos de atribución y principales sesgos atributivos, para terminar con un capítulo que aborda la conducta prosocial.
