In the spring of 2010, Harvard Business School’s graduating class asked HBS professor Clay Christensen to address them—but not on how to apply his principles and thinking to their post-HBS careers. The students wanted to know how to apply his wisdom to their personal lives. He shared with them a set of guidelines that have helped him find meaning in his own life, which led to this now-classic article. Although Christensen’s thinking is rooted in his deep religious faith, these are strategies anyone can use. Since 1922, Harvard Business Review has been a leading source of breakthrough ideas in management practice. The Harvard Business Review Classics series now offers you the opportunity to make these seminal pieces a part of your permanent management library. Each highly readable volume contains a groundbreaking idea that continues to shape best practices and inspire countless managers around the world.

#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • A special 25th anniversary edition of the beloved book that has changed millions of lives with the story of an unforgettable friendship, the timeless wisdom of older generations, and healing lessons on loss and grief—featuring a new afterword by the author “A wonderful book, a story of the heart told by a writer with soul.”—Los Angeles Times “The most important thing in life is to learn how to give out love, and to let it come in.” Maybe it was a grandparent, or a teacher, or a colleague. Someone older, patient and wise, who understood you when you were young and searching, helped you see the world as a more profound place, gave you sound advice to help you make your way through it. For Mitch Albom, that person was his college professor Morrie Schwartz. Maybe, like Mitch, you lost track of this mentor as you made your way, and the insights faded, and the world seemed colder. Wouldn’t you like to see that person again, ask the bigger questions that still haunt you, receive wisdom for your busy life today the way you once did when you were younger? Mitch Albom had that second chance. He rediscovered Morrie in the last months of the older man’s life. Knowing he was dying, Morrie visited with Mitch in his study every Tuesday, just as they used to back in college. Their rekindled relationship turned into one final “class”: lessons in how to live. “The truth is, Mitch,” he said, “once you learn how to die, you learn how to live.” Tuesdays with Morrie is a magical chronicle of their time together, through which Mitch shares Morrie’s lasting gift with the world.

Not everything in your life produces the same effect as far as your destiny is concerned. God gave us 24hours and it's full of several activities that can move us towards destiny but not all of them move us at the same level and not all of them carry the same gravity. It is very important we understand this. I think one of the wrong perceptions that our generation has is that we allocate equal time, equal priority and equal interest to everything and anything. Your time for play is equal to your of prayer. Your time of gisting is equal to your time of personal development. There must be a system of prioritizing your life and I want to show you the three most important things in a man's life in my opinion and supported by scripture. These three areas I want to show you today are worth dying for. Not everything is worth dying for. There are people who have died for nothing; there are people who have died the deaths of fool but it is important to know what is worth committing your energy, your time and your money. At the end of your life, there are only few things that will make your life count. Believe me when I tell you this. In the maze of several activities clamoring for your attention;the average young man is like a magnet attracting different things that need your attention in life and I have found out in my little experience and by the privilege of wisdom and mentorship and the word that in the end of your life, there are not more than four (4) or five (5) things that are worth living for. So, in our business;an attempt to make money, marry, serve God, grow ministries, expand, etc all of these things are important but a time must come in our life where we have to shut the door and ask ourselves "what is really important?" because many of us as I'll be showing you, if you don't know what is important you'll major on the minors and minor on the majors. Read this book and be Blessed

Telecommuting-an increasingly common practice of working from home or away from a central office, while staying linked by phone and/or computer-has become a way of life for more than eleven million people in the United States, and the number constantly rises. But most books on the subject focus on its technological or administrative aspects rather than its human ones. What are the pros and cons of telecommuting for the legions of men and women that actually do it on a daily basis? And how can current or would-be telecommuters maximize their performance while minimizing their headaches? In 101 Tips for Telecommuters, seasoned telecommuter Debra Dinnocenzo shares her practical, easy-to-implement "action tips" for making telecommuting as efficient and productive as possible. Written for full-time, occasional, and aspiring telecommuters, this helpful book covers everything from managing one's own time, balancing telecommuting with family demands, and working effectively with others from afar to networking the "virtual" way, getting a grip on technological overkill and even resisting the ever-beckoning refrigerator when working at home! Dinnocenzo offers useful advice on special self-management factors to consider when telecommuting; how to keep in touch with all the people-coworkers, managers, support personnel, customers, and others-who make up your telecommuting world; and even how to nurture crucial ties with suppliers, vendors, and service providers. In the new age of professional mobility, 101 Tips for Telecommuters is the perfect guide for the millions of Americans who want to succeed in this exciting and challenging new way of work.

Beyond Order written by Jordan B. Peterson and has been published by Random House Canada this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2021-03-02 with Psychology categories.

The highly anticipated sequel to the global bestseller 12 Rules for Life. In 12 Rules for Life, acclaimed public thinker and clinical psychologist Jordan B. Peterson offered an antidote to the chaos in our lives: eternal truths applied to modern anxieties. His insights have helped millions of readers and resonated powerfully around the world. Now in his long-awaited sequel, Peterson goes further, showing that part of life's meaning comes from reaching out into the domain beyond what we know, and adapting to an ever-transforming world. While an excess of chaos threatens us with uncertainty, an excess of order leads to a lack of curiosity and creative vitality. Beyond Order therefore calls on us to balance the two fundamental principles of reality--order and chaos--and reveals the profound meaning that can be found on the path that divides them. In times of instability and suffering, Peterson reminds us that there are sources of strength on which we can all draw: insights borrowed from psychology, philosophy, and humanity's greatest myths and stories. Drawing on the hard-won truths of ancient wisdom, as well as deeply personal lessons from his own life and clinical practice, Peterson offers twelve new principles to guide readers towards a more courageous, truthful, and meaningful life.

Life Force written by Susan Scott and has been published by SCB Distributors this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-02-25 with Body, Mind & Spirit categories.

Susan Scott’s previous books are about keeping mentally and physically strong; what we refer to as resilience - the capacity to cope with everyday challenges and remain well. There is one missing ingredient though if you want to ensure true performance and success and that’s energy. As we hear more and more, ‘you can’t pour from an empty glass’. Energy is what helps us get more done, more easily and to a better standard. It is our oomph and joie de vivre. Our motivation and creativity. It is the very fuel in our tank and without it we’re not going anywhere. Stress, anxiety, money worries, managing excessive demands, overwork, relationship issues, working long hours, job insecurity.... goodness, life – all take their toll on our energy levels. ‘I wish I had more energy’ is frequently heard. ‘Why am I so tired and exhausted all the time?’ is a classic question. There is a trend in the workplace to do more with less ‘energy’ - as a lack of energy has the potential to be catastrophic. To summarise. Energy is the foundation of resilience and performance, without it all the skills, knowledge and experience in the world count for nothing. It has the power to take an ordinary person to extraordinary. It has a positive impact on the behaviour and performance in the workplace, on the bottom-line for the organisation but most of all, on the health and wellbeing of individuals. IT is an imperative. This is the book to tell you how to: • Stop feeling tired all the time • Enhance your energy, vitality and sustainability • Fuel the energy-making powerhouses in your body • Avoid energy slumps during the day • Sleep better and wake revitalised • Use energy to focus, concentrate and deliver to a higher standard • Improve your mood and outlook on life • Improve your resilience to manage your demanding life It will show you how to have the capacity to live life to the full mentally and physically – a mind and body approach. It is a one stop shop that does everything it says on the tin. It will leave nothing to the imagination as all the experience and knowledge built up over the author’s career will be succinctly and practically reproduced in this book. Using theory, activities, questionnaires and case studies, each section will be explained in a way that guides the reader to make the changes necessary to recharge their batteries and keep them topped up going forward.
