One of the twentieth century’s greatest spiritual teachers invites you onto the path that takes you through all of life’s experiences and to embrace your own humanity. Man is a bridge, says Osho, between the animal and the divine—and our awareness of this dual aspect of our nature is what makes us human. It is also what makes us restless, full of conflict, so often at the crossroads of selfishness and generosity, of love and hate, frailty and strength, hope and despair. The Journey of Being Human: Is It Possible to Find Real Happiness in Ordinary Life? looks into how we might embrace and accept these apparent contradictions, rather than trying to choose between them, as the key to transforming each twist and turn of life’s journey into a new discovery of who we are meant to be. Osho challenges readers to examine and break free of the conditioned belief systems and prejudices that limit their capacity to enjoy life in all its richness. He has been described by the Sunday Times of London as one of the “1000 Makers of the 20th Century” and by Sunday Mid-Day (India) as one of the ten people—along with Gandhi, Nehru, and Buddha—who have changed the destiny of India. Since his death in 1990, the influence of his teachings continues to expand, reaching seekers of all ages in virtually every country of the world.

A New York Times Bestseller. A scientist’s exploration into the mysteries of the human mind. What is the mind? What is the experience of the self truly made of? How does the mind differ from the brain? Though the mind’s contents—its emotions, thoughts, and memories—are often described, the essence of mind is rarely, if ever, defined. In this book, noted neuropsychiatrist and New York Times best-selling author Daniel J. Siegel, MD, uses his characteristic sensitivity and interdisciplinary background to offer a definition of the mind that illuminates the how, what, when, where, and even why of who we are, of what the mind is, and what the mind’s self has the potential to become. MIND takes the reader on a deep personal and scientific journey into consciousness, subjective experience, and information processing, uncovering the mind’s self-organizational properties that emerge from both the body and the relationships we have with one another, and with the world around us. While making a wide range of sciences accessible and exciting—from neurobiology to quantum physics, anthropology to psychology—this book offers an experience that addresses some of our most pressing personal and global questions about identity, connection, and the cultivation of well-being in our lives.

This is a story of a young lady, Page, who desires to live perfectly happily ever after. Determined to make the world a brighter place, Page even takes on a self-imposed role of partnering with God. Page finds herself experiencing monumental, life-changing events through other people. As she remains busy tending to her daily life, Page begins to feel the weight of those other events, and the weight of her own expectations. She questions why she can't fix it all. All those messy, unhealed injuries come to surface in Page after she witnesses an innocent creature struggle to live. Page breaks...open. In her brokenness, she finally accepts that those imperfect events really happened to her, no matter how hard she's tried to be perfect. Page finally sees herself in Truth, acknowledges the memories behind her scars, and admits that there are some events she simply cannot heal from. Page accepts she is not God, and that she needs God. This is a journey through imperfections, brokenness, pride, shame, and guilt. This is a journey of surviving with hope, rising with faith, and living with love. This is a journey of discovering that being perfect does not equate to being worthy. This is a journey of discovering truth, and being set free from facades. When Page can finally put the past to rest, she embraces the present. When Page finally accepts God's gifts, she becomes free, free indeed. This is Page's spiritual journey of Being Human.

The dazzling success of The Toaster Project, including TV appearances and an international book tour, leaves Thomas Thwaites in a slump. His friends increasingly behave like adults, while Thwaites still lives at home, "stuck in a big, dark hole." Luckily, a research grant offers the perfect out: a chance to take a holiday from the complications of being human—by transforming himself into a goat. What ensues is a hilarious and surreal journey through engineering, design, and psychology, as Thwaites interviews neuroscientists, animal behaviorists, prosthetists, goat sanctuary workers, and goatherds. From this, he builds a goat exoskeleton—artificial legs, helmet, chest protector, raincoat from his mum, and a prosthetic goat stomach to digest grass (with help from a pressure cooker and campfire)—before setting off across the Alps on four legs with a herd of his fellow creatures. Will he make it? Do Thwaites and his readers discover what it truly means to be human? GoatMan tells all in Thwaites's inimitable style, which NPR extols as "a laugh-out- loud-funny but thoughtful guide through his own adventures."

Suffering jolts us awake whether we like it or not, but just as disappointments and suffering are a part of life, so are grace and joy. Joy is right here, right now if we can but see it.The sweetest moments of peace and bliss that I've experienced in my life have been spontaneous eruptions of joy which were not manufactured by the material world, but evolved from an inner consciousness of gratitude and grace.

WE ARE HUMAN BEINGS NOT HUMAN DOINGS... It is Not in What We Do But in Learning to Be That Life's Mysteries Unfold before Us on Our Journey of Evolution. I am a Being, a Being being Human. I am here to experience and create whatever 'being Human' means... I am here to feel every expression that encompasses life on Earth. To understand and embrace the pain that comes with anger, jealousy, sadness and all the fear-based emotions. To feel and celebrate the magic and wonder that is created in joy, excitement, caring and love. I am here to expand beyond the known, to integrate the capabilities of a Spiritual being into a Human body, to open the DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) that we already have but is locked away, and evolve the body to facilitate this process. And I'm finding being Human isn't easy; at times, it's beyond difficult. But with the hardships in life comes the opportunity for growth and hopefully wisdom. I know this to my very core. But when life is tough and you're immersed in darkness and despair, knowing the experience is creating some wonderful gem of wisdom is not always helpful.... The potential is limitless for the beauty we can create here on this extraordinary planet. Why can Humans not see this? Why do we wait for chaos before we choose to change? Why does it take destruction before we choose to be compassionate? Why do we as Beings being Human continue to choose fear over love? I know on some level that it is to experience everything and learn from it, but then why does it take so long? The challenge is to move beyond all these limitations, conditioning and ancestral beliefs. To expand our understanding of life and the form we have chosen to journey in. To be able to do the impossible and unknown. To evolve consciously, instead of the unconscious process that we have remained in for eons. Hopefully, by sharing my story thus far, it will also help you remember who you are, and why you are here. I have a long journey ahead on Earth, and I'm remembering how to create and evolve every minute of every day. When I stop doing that, then it is time for me to go elsewhere, so let's journey together for a while, and maybe, just maybe, I can help you to 'lighten' up, shake off the darkness, and remember the beautiful expansive 'Being' you are... way, way, beyond the Human Being you think you are! This is my story.... may it help you with your journey in life. Written with love for all Beings being Human Beings
