About this Book: A company that pursues a brand should keep two points in mind: the brand philosophy and values at the management level and the brand performance at the operational level. The focus of this book is to give explicit interpretation to "Brand Philosophy and Values" and then to elaborate on "Brand Performance" that should be established within the organization. Brand value is the spirit of the brand building while brand performance management is the process of pursuing a brand and the way to keep the brand from failing. These are two sides of the same coin that cannot live without each other. BRAND VALUES: The cornerstone of character buildingThe core of brand cultureThe shield to resist wind and waves of temptationThe criterion of operations managementBRAND PERFORMANCE: The comprehensive program for the brandingThe innovative thinking in performanceThe management that begins with the end in mindThe end-to-end processThe significance of the three elements of the brand: quality, character, and taste. Quality is to meet the standard specifications. It is about providing a genuine product to meet the needs of the "body."Character is to be law-abiding, righteous, honest, and upright. It is about doing good things to meet the needs of the "heart."Taste is to understand, respect, and seek artistic value, human value, and social and environmental value. It is about using persistence and passion to meet the needs of the "spirit."So quality is to do things well, but taste and character are to perfect a person both on the inside and the outside. A person or a company with these three elements can benefit themselves, others, and eventually, the whole worl

How can we overcome the rapidly ageing postmodernist paradigm, which has become sterile orthodoxy in marketing? This book answers this crucial question using fresh philosophical tools developed by New Realism. It indicates the opportunities missed by marketing due to the pervasive postmodernist ideology and proposes a new and fruitful approach pivoting on the significance of reality to marketing analyses and models. Intensifying reference to reality will boost marketing research and practice, rather than impair them; conversely, neglecting such a reference will prevent marketing from realising its full potential, in several contexts. The aim of the book is foundational: its purpose is not a return to traditional realism but to break new ground and overcome theoretical obstacles in marketing and management by revising some of their assumptions and enriching their categories, thereby paving the way to fresh approaches and methodological innovations. In that sense, the book encourages theoretical innovation and experimentation and introduces new concepts, like invitation and attrition, which can find fruitful applications in marketing theory and practice. That is meant to be conductive to the solution of important difficulties and to the uncovering of new phenomena. The last chapter of the book applies the new approach to eight case studies from business contexts. This book will be of interest to philosophers interested in New Realism and to researchers, scholars and marketing professionals sensitive to the importance and fruitfulness of reference to reality, for their own purposes.

The Philosophy Of Design written by Glenn Parsons and has been published by John Wiley & Sons this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2015-11-18 with Philosophy categories.

The Philosophy of Design is an introduction to the fundamental philosophical issues raised by the contemporary practice of design. The first book to systematically examine design from the perspective of contemporary philosophy, it offers a broad perspective, ranging across key philosophical areas such as aesthetics, epistemology, metaphysics and ethics. The first part of the book explores central issues about the nature of design and its products, and the rationality of design methods. A central theme is that Modernist ideas, such as those offered by Loos and Gropius, provide important responses to these philosophical issues. In the second part of the book, these Modernist ideas serve as touchstones in the exploration of key issues for design, including: the place of aesthetics in design; design's relation to personal expression; the meaning of function; and design's relation to consumerism. The social responsibility of designers, and the impact of design practice on ethical reasoning are also discussed. Written in an accessible style, The Philosophy of Design presents a new perspective on design and a provocative reassessment of the Modernist legacy. It will engage students and designers with current philosophical debates, helping them to bring into clearer focus the meaning of contemporary design, and its unique challenges and possibilities.

Offering an original contribution to the field of luxury and fashion studies, this edited collection takes a philosophical perspective, addressing the idea that humans need luxury. From this framework it delves deep into two particular dimensions of luxury, emotions and society, and concludes with cases of brand building in order to illustrate the two dimensions at work. Comparative analysis between countries is brought together with an emphasis on China. Chapters address the ongoing growth in the market, as well as the significant changes in the sector brought about by fast international expansion and an increased focus on ethical supply and sustainability, making the book an insightful read for scholars of fashion business, luxury and branding.
