Nurture My Heart is intended for any parent or adult who desires a powerful yet simple formula for growing greatness in children. It is a formula for creating a family or classroom culture based on genuine success and positive relationship. Nurture My Heart is a story and summary of Howard Glasser's Nurtured Heart Approach, presented in a way that provides a tool to introduce the approach to children and a concise explanation of the basics of the approach. Why not start with success? Conventional parenting relies on our cultural tendency to spend most of our time and energy answering the question, "what's wrong with this picture?" so a child is spoken to and recognized more frequently and more energetically when misbehaving. The unintended outcome is a child with a negative sense of self, who acts from this place of negativity, feels bad on the inside, and knows only what he is not. Howard Glasser's Nurtured Heart Approach reverses this unintended outcome. It shows parents how to answer the question, in exquisite detail, "what's right with my child?" Parents learn how to recognize and celebrate a child for making good choices, and they master the skills to build within their children all of the values and character qualities that create a healthy sense of self and ownership in creating one's successful future: inner wealth! Nurture My Heart demonstrates how simple it is to start with success and forever maintain a positive, strong relationship with your average or intense, uniquely amazing child.

Just when you thought you've heard it all-"Parenting from the Heart" offers a new and different, refreshing approach to parenting. This easy-to-understand, down-to-earth book moves beyond parenting theories and techniques to get to the heart of parenting. If parents know how to look within their hearts to find the answers they need, parenting techniques are not necessary. If parents know how to find a loving connection with their children at most times, discipline and consequences are rarely necessary. All parents have it within them to bring out the best in their children. Approaching parents in this way makes parenting a true pleasure instead of the battle and chore it often becomes. Many so-called experts say that raising kids is the toughest job any of us will ever do, but it does not have to be that way. It can be the most joyful thing any of us will ever do. "Parenting from the Heart" is a must resource for anyone who cares about parenting and raising children. About the Author: Jack Pransky, Ph.D. is Director of the "Center for Inside-Out Understanding" and is an international consultant and trainer for the prevention of problem behaviors and the promotion of well-being. He also authored the books, "Somebody Should Have Told Us ; Modello: A Story of Hope for the Inner-City and Beyond; Prevention from the Inside-Out, Prevention: The Critical Need" and co-authored both the "Healthy Thinking, Feeling, Doing--from the Inside-Out" curriculum and guide for middle school students and "What Is A Thought (A Thought Is A Lot)," a picture book for little children. Pransky has worked in the field of prevention since 1968 in a wide variety of capacities. He has offered parenting training and consultation to a great number of parents, and has trained many parenting course instructors.

All Children Flourishing written by Howard Glasser and has been published by Nurtured Heart Publications this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2007 with Family & Relationships categories.

The Nurtured Heart Approach was originally designed to help families help their difficult children better adapt to school and family life. During years of using this approach with these children, however, I discovered that it works beautifully to foster inner strength, higher achievement, happiness, security and exemplary conduct in every child. It is not just another positive approach to parenting designed to improve behavior. Rather, it's an approach to greatness, a method of recognizing and appreciating the gifts each child possesses. Parents who had been desperate to find something that worked and adopted the Nurtured Heart Approach with their difficult child typically also used the approach with their other children, because it is just easier that way. They would then report similar, extraordinary results: they described their other children as flourishing beyond anything they had ever seen or experienced before. This approach gives parents enormous power to help every child navigate an ever more complex world with confidence and an inner compass of greatness. Children now more than ever need a real inheritance, not monetary wealth, but inner wealth. We can no longer just occasionally urge our children to feel self-worth, to make better choices and to have a better attitude. A more proactive approach is needed. We have to give them irrefutable evidence, in real time, that they are successful ... right here and right now!

Decades of research have demonstrated that the parent-child dyad and the environment of the familyâ€"which includes all primary caregiversâ€"are at the foundation of children's well- being and healthy development. From birth, children are learning and rely on parents and the other caregivers in their lives to protect and care for them. The impact of parents may never be greater than during the earliest years of life, when a child's brain is rapidly developing and when nearly all of her or his experiences are created and shaped by parents and the family environment. Parents help children build and refine their knowledge and skills, charting a trajectory for their health and well-being during childhood and beyond. The experience of parenting also impacts parents themselves. For instance, parenting can enrich and give focus to parents' lives; generate stress or calm; and create any number of emotions, including feelings of happiness, sadness, fulfillment, and anger. Parenting of young children today takes place in the context of significant ongoing developments. These include: a rapidly growing body of science on early childhood, increases in funding for programs and services for families, changing demographics of the U.S. population, and greater diversity of family structure. Additionally, parenting is increasingly being shaped by technology and increased access to information about parenting. Parenting Matters identifies parenting knowledge, attitudes, and practices associated with positive developmental outcomes in children ages 0-8; universal/preventive and targeted strategies used in a variety of settings that have been effective with parents of young children and that support the identified knowledge, attitudes, and practices; and barriers to and facilitators for parents' use of practices that lead to healthy child outcomes as well as their participation in effective programs and services. This report makes recommendations directed at an array of stakeholders, for promoting the wide-scale adoption of effective programs and services for parents and on areas that warrant further research to inform policy and practice. It is meant to serve as a roadmap for the future of parenting policy, research, and practice in the United States.
