It all started with a partridge. In a pine tree. And two dogs. Three ferrets. Four hamsters. Five golden fish.It just went on from there.Cleo Klausse has spent her entire life as one half of what the kids called the Christmas Couple, forever tied to the gorgeous and obnoxiously perfect Kayne Frost because of their last names, an annoying little joke given that neither one of them actually wanted to be part of the couple. But their common interest-volunteering as animal rescuers at the animal sanctuary-keeps pulling them back together. Especially when he got her sprayed by a skunk.Kayne came back from Arizona with one goal-convince Cleo that they are more than just a schoolyard joke without scaring her off. He has a plan, full of twists and turns and slow baby steps. Unfortunately, the Twelve Days of Christmas doesn't believe in baby steps and throws them together at every possible chance. But there's a beauty in chaos, and hope in the mess it leaves behind. Kayne just has to convince Cleo to see it.

Jersey Folklore Superstitions Volume One written by G. J. C. Bois and has been published by AuthorHouse this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2010-06-04 with Body, Mind & Spirit categories.
Published in two volumes, the purpose of Jersey Folklore & Superstitions is three-fold: To bring all the previously published and any non-published material on Jersey folktales and superstitions together in one publication, to expand on the detail of this material and to place it in context by comparing it with similar or more complete traditions from the Gulf of St. Malo as a whole (Guernsey, Normandy and Brittany) and to consider its functions and origins. To this end they are further compared with traditions from Europe generally, with some examples from further afield and with mythologies worldwide. For Jersey readers this work will give an overview of their oral tradition, its significance and how it relates to the body of such traditions within Europe as a whole. For general readers the use of the Island’s traditions as a template for those elsewhere, the process of comparison with those from other regions and the attempt to outline the broad range of sources from which they are drawn, may give an insight into particular areas of folk tradition generally, such as fairy-lore, indigenous sorcery (witchcraft), domestic superstitions and the roles and origins of spectral animals and other beings. For this purpose, most chapters are broadly divided into four main sections. The Jersey material is presented first, followed by that from Guernsey, Normandy and Brittany, followed by an analysis using examples from further afield and from mythology. Each chapter concludes with a review and summary of this material. Liberal quotations of related ‘ditons’ or sayings in Jèrriais (the Jersey Language) are included with each chapter. The author has four previous publications; Jersey Superstitions in Etching & Poetry (hardcover 1981), An Introduction to Channel Islands’ Pewter (softcover 1993), Jersey Maritime Folklore (M/S format, 1996) and Sunbonnets in the Channel Islands & worldwide (CD-R 2005).

Peterson's answer to this most difficult of questions uniquely combines the hard-won truths of ancient tradition with the stunning revelations of cutting-edge scientific research. Humorous, surprising and informative, Dr. Peterson tells us why skateboarding boys and girls must be left alone, what terrible fate awaits those who criticize too easily, and why you should always pet a cat when you meet one on the street. What does the nervous system of the lowly lobster have to tell us about standing up straight (with our shoulders back) and about success in life? Why did ancient Egyptians worship the capacity to pay careful attention as the highest of gods? What dreadful paths do people tread when they become resentful, arrogant and vengeful? Dr. Peterson journeys broadly, discussing discipline, freedom, adventure and responsibility, distilling the world's wisdom into 12 practical and profound rules for life. 12 Rules for Life shatters the modern commonplaces of science, faith and human nature, while transforming and ennobling the mind and spirit of its readers.

Cyber In The Age Of Trump written by Charlie Mitchell and has been published by Rowman & Littlefield Publishers this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2020-03-15 with Political Science categories.
In this book, one of America’s leading analysts of cybersecurity policy presents an incisive, first-time examination of how President Trump's unique, often baffling governing style has collided with the imperatives of protecting the nation's cybersecurity. Mitchell reveals how qualities that drove success in business and reality TV – impatience and unpredictability, posturing as an unassailable “strong man,” and aversion to systematic approaches – have been antithetical to effective leadership on cybersecurity. Mitchell reveals how the United States is trying to navigate through one of the most treacherous passages in history. Facing this challenge, He argues that the strategic pieces put forth by Trump do not add up to a coherent whole, or a cybersecurity legacy likely to endure past his presidency. Cyber in the Age of Trump will be required reading for both insiders and citizens concerned about American response to the wide variety of cyberthreats at home and abroad.

Snowball, that lovable bundle of feline fluff readers first met as a kitten in Snowball’s Christmas, is all grown up. And now that she has her forever home at a cozy B&B, she’s determined to orchestrate a forever love match, just in time for the holidays . . . Snowball takes her job as the “official kitty” at the Victorian B&B Inn, Weber Haus, very seriously. Greeting guests and keeping tabs on them is a full-time feline job, after all. However, being nice to Daniel Aarons is not on her to-do list. The handsome construction manager almost messed up her forever family, and she isn’t about to forgive him anytime soon . . . But then someone new arrives at Weber Haus. Her name is Sophie Heidt—and she’s the B&B’s new manager. When Snowball goes missing on Sophie’s first day, Daniel, in charge of the new hotel wing, comes to her rescue by getting the cat to do what she does best: attack him. It doesn’t take long for Snowball’s animal instincts to reveal that Daniel and Sophie are meant to be together. Unfortunately, Daniel keeps making a mess of things. It’s going to take some special insight and holiday cheer to bring them together. But if anyone can do it, Snowball can—even if she has to tolerate turtle doves, French hens, calling birds, and other fur-raising human traditions . . .
