Two military veterans find solace, and each other, on a horse ranch in this romance from the New York Times–bestselling author of Wind River Undercover. For Noah Mabry, it’s easier sometimes to relate to the dogs and horses he trains than to other people. Ever since his marriage became a casualty of the war in Afghanistan—torn apart by the PTSD he brought back with him—he prefers to be on his own. At the Bar C Ranch in Wyoming, where he works with a crew of fellow military vets, his gentle patience helps tame even the rowdiest mustang—but he’s about to meet a woman who needs a healing touch he’s not sure he can give. Dair Wilson, a half-Comanche ex-Marine who lost a foot to an IED, has been hired on to assist Noah, but her deepest wounds aren’t visible. Growing up in an abusive home, she learned not to trust men, even ones who seem nothing but kind. After a wild horse sends her sprawling, the attentive care she receives from the Bar C family—and especially from Noah—is enough to convince her she’s found a place she can finally breathe easy. But one angry, damaged man poses a threat not only to Dair and Noah, but to everyone who’s built a new home at the Bar C… Fourth in the series! Praise for Wrangler’s Challenge “Solid and believable…[a] moving novel about the resilience of injured veterans and the healing power of love.”—Publishers Weekly

Melding universities’ strategic goals with libraries’ teaching and learning mission, the academic library makerspace can be a powerful catalyst for information literacy, offering faculty partners a place for interdisciplinary, experiential learning. If you’re pondering what it takes to get your makerspace into the curriculum, this volume’s relatable, first-hand accounts from librarians, makerspace staff, and faculty partners will give you the confidence to make the leap. Contributors, drawn from the IMLS-funded Maker Literacies project, describe pilots and assessment for a variety of demographics, course subjects, and makerspace equipment. Guided by their experiences, you’ll be ready to fully partner with faculty through the course integration and assessment process. Inside, you’ll learn why academic librarians are uniquely situated to be leaders in the realm of makerspaces and makerspace literacy; how the ACRL Framework informs maker competencies; methods for using competencies and assessment in designing course assignments; 5 steps for guiding faculty in creating assignments for makerspaces; advice on developing a new staffing and service model to handle course-wide use of the makerspace; steps for taking students through concept, design, prototype, and final product in a project management course; how an ethical perspective engaged a women’s history course toward the “In Her Shoes” project; pedagogical strategies for integrating the makerspace into fine arts classes; and ways to showcase makerspace outputs to generate excitement around campus.

Jeep Wrangler ownership as well as other capable 4x4s opens up a fascinating world of adventure and exciting challenges. Off road adventures provide access to incredibly beautiful terrain and fun, exciting driving challenges. For example California offers over 100,000 miles of off road trails and dirt roads. Utah trails exceed 80,000 miles of adventure. Other states offer similar opportunities to explore and challenge yourself. If you already own a Jeep Wrangler, you are equipped with the best off road vehicle ever. While other vehicles from other manufacturers tout the off road capabilities of their vehicles, the Jeep Wrangler at every price point will handle off road challenges more easily and safely. If you are shopping for an off road capable vehicle, this book will help decide what direction to look for a suitable rig for your purposes. A Jeep Wrangler is hard to beat for off road adventures. Some vehicles may be a little more comfortable on the highway or on rough dirt roads, but when the going gets more challenging, the Jeep offers capability and confidence. Currently, the Wrangler Rubicon with the Xtreme Recon package is the most capable "off the showroom floor" off roader available, even more capable then the Ford Bronco Raptor. Even a Wrangler Sport is good off road rig. Add better tires and the Sport can tackle most dirt roads and trails. And if you plan to modify an off road vehicle, the Jeep Wrangler series offers more aftermarket parts and upgrade choices than any vehicle in history. 268 Pages, over 800 photos TABLE OF CONTENTS TAKING YOUR JEEP OFF ROAD TIPS FOR NEWCOMERS WENDY'S NEWBIE NUGGETS ADVANCED LEARNING 4WD CONTROLS HOW 4WD WORKS PAY ATTENTION BE ON THE LOOKOUT THE ART OF CHOOSING A LINE ROUGH COUNTRY THE UPS AND DOWNS OF DIRT CLIMBING HILLS DESCENDING HILLS THE SLIPPERY SLOPE SAND MUD SNOW & ICE WATER CROSSINGS SPOT ON VEHICLE SPOTTING TIRES TIRE PRESSURES WHEELS WINCHING TIPS & TRICKS OVERLANDING WAYS TO GET TRAILS CLOSED MIND YOUR MANNERS GET INVOLVED SUSPENSION, STEERING, BRAKES SUSPENSION, AXLE & STEERING ALIGNMENT DRIVELINES, AXLES, LOCKERS UNDERSIDE PROTECTION WHAT YOU NEED TO GO FOUR WHEELING TRAIL DIFFICULTY RATING TACKLING BACKCOUNTRY TERRAIN 911 - WHAT IS YOUR EMERGENCY TOWING DISABLED VEHICLES STEERING SYSTEM FAILURE POINTS DEALING WITH BROKEN SUSPENSION & STEERING BASIC ON-BOARD TOOL KIT BASIC FIRST AID KIT FOOD, WATER, CLOTHING MAPS, COMPASSES BE PREPARED ADVENTURE PLANNING NAVIGATION EMERGENCY TIRE REPAIR TRAILS 411 PROJECT VEHICLES

Sport And The Physical Emancipation Of English Women Rle Sports Studies written by Kathleen McCrone and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2014-04-24 with Sports & Recreation categories.

The nineteenth century was a golden age in British sports. Not only were sports immensely popular, but they began to assume the forms and qualities that still characterise them today. Moreover, the latter part of the century saw a significant participation in sports by women, and this book provides the first overall examination of this early development and the social changes that it helped to bring about. Since women’s entry into sports was chiefly a consequence of the campaign for better female education, the book begins with an account of sports at the Oxbridge women’s colleges, at the girls' public schools and at the new women’s physical training colleges. It then examines team sports such as hockey, lacrosse, and cricket and individual sports such as tennis, golf and cycling. Other chapters discuss the medical attitudes and prejudices toward women’s participation in sports and the role of sports in changing female dress.
