Depuis l'invasion de l'Irak, l'actualité proche-orientale a propulsé sur la scène médiatique un chiisme dont la "montée", signalée comme une donnée géopolitique majeure au Moyen-Orient, est parfois appréhendée comme un nouveau "péril", en Occident et par certains régimes arabes. C'est ce contexte qui a popularisé l'expression de "croissant chiite" pour désigner et souvent stigmatiser, de l'Afghanistant au Liban, une série de zones chiites, articulées autour de l'Iran et susceptibles de former un bloc servant les intérêts de la République islamique d'Iran. A l'inverse de ce"croissant chiite", ce livre présente les "mondes chiites", au pluriel, dans toute leur complexité. De l'Afrique à la Chine, sans compter les diasporas, on trouve des groupes chiites duodécimains souvent minoritaires parfois majoritaires. Par sa position géographique et son rôle dans l'histoire, l'Iran est au centre de ces mondes chiites, mais que signifie et que recouvre vraiment cette centralité? Ce livre des spécialistes des aires géorgraphiques concernées. Il offre un parcours au coeur de ces contextes multiples, où être chiite ne correspond jamais exactement à une même réalité sociale et culturelle, malgré des références communes, doctrinales et politiques. L'exportation de la révolution, qui fut longtemps la paradigme de l'influence iranienne sur les mondes chiites, a fait son temps, même si dans certains cas, tel celui du Hezbollah libanais, son héritage est évident. Quel rôle joue réellement l'Iran dans les chiismes en construction, à Istambul, Bakou, Boukhara et Tachkent ou encore chez les chiites de Dakar? le "modèle iranien" n'est plus seulement, et, parfois plus du tout, celui d'un islam politique révolutionnaire. Du clerc rebelle Muqtadâ al-Sadr en Irak aux écoles religieuses où étiduent de jeunes Pakistanaises, l'influence iranienne se décline sous de multiples formes. Pour les mondes chiites, l'Iran reste un formidable laboratoire d'idées.

Elinizdeki kitap, XX. yüzyıl Azerbaycan edebiyatının en yetenekli şair ve dramaturglarından ve en kıymetli şahsiyetlerinden biri olan Hüseyin Cavid Rasizâde hakkında yapılmış bir çalışmadır. Azerbaycan edebiyatının lirik-romantik şairi ve Stalin represiyasının kurbanı olan Hüseyin Cavid, manzum dramın ustasıdır. Azerbaycan romantizminin gelişmesinde önemli rolü vardır. Şairin İstanbul Edebiyat Fakültesi’nde okuması, Rıza Tevfik’den ve dönemin önemli edebiyatçılarından dersler alması, şiirlerini Servet-i Fünûn şair ve yazarlarının etkisiyle İstanbul Tükçesiyle yazması, İstanbul’da bulunduğu yıllarda şiirlerini dönemin dergilerinde yayımlatması büyük önem arz etmektedir. Azerbaycan romantik edebiyatının temsilcisi olan Hüseyin Cavid, XX. yüzyılın başlarında, Türkiye ile edebî ve kültürel ilginin gelişmesinde, iki ülke arasındaki sosyal, siyasi, toplumsal, bağların kuvvetlenmesinde, Ziya Paşa, Namık Kemal, Abdülhak Hâmid Tarhan, Tevfik Fikret, Cenâb Şahâbeddin, Mehmet Âkif Ersoy gibi şairlerle ilişkilerin oluşmasında büyük hizmetleri olmuştur. Bu ilişkilerin kuvvetlenmesinde Mehmed Emin Resulzade, Ahmed Cavad, Mehemmed Hadi’nin de rolü büyüktür. XIX. yüzyılın başlarında Azerbaycan Türkleri Türkiye’deki okullarda okur, Türkiye Türklerinin edebiyatı Azerbaycan’daki okullarda okutulurdu. İki ülkede yayımlanan dergi ve gazeteler birbirlerine gönderilirdi. Azerbaycan’da Sovyet hükümeti kurulduktan sonra Azerbaycan Türkleri ile Türkiye Türkleri arasındaki ilişkiler kopmaya başladı. Özellikle, Sovyetler Birliği’nde alfabe değişikliğinden (yani Sovyet yönetimi Kiril alfabesine geçtikten) sonra sosyal, siyasi, coğrafi, kültürel ilişkiler tamamen kesildi.
