This book is a poetic journey through time. A journey that has spanned over fifty years. This book is for those who have witness the sense-less killings of our people...killings that have been justified by laws and the law enforcers of our country. This book is a voice for the homeless, the jobless, the misunderstood, and for the millions who see America through UN-adjusted bi-focal and rose color glasses. This book is for those who have witness and experienced the demise of our educational system. For those who boast constantly of their degrees(which on their walls) but can't understand or won't understand the savage destruction of the minds of our children...which in turn will lead to a savage destructive leadership of our future. This book us for the parents who children have died needlessly in the streets of America, on the fields of battle, and behind the walls of our prisons. For those who have seen the develop, the growth, and the power of drugs(legal and illegal) as it has taken the lives of the rich and famous, the poor, the fortunate and the UN-fortunate. This book is the 'last call' for the people of America to come together and look at the 'ugly' that lurks in every corner of our society, in the darkness of our streets, and in some of the minds and souls of those who speaks for us. Information is knowledge Knowledge (when understood) is power Power is freedom We the people must be free

Do You See What I See written by Russell Targ and has been published by Hampton Roads Publishing this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2010-03-01 with Body, Mind & Spirit categories.

Now in paperback, the droll memoir by a world-class physicist that includes recollections of his involvement with pioneering laser research, encounters with many of the most recognizable literary, cultural, and entertainment figures of the 20th century, and his role in teaching ESP techniques to the CIA--a real-life X-Files saga. Russll Targ is a Zelig-like character. His story is an idiosyncratic journey through the highways and byways of American intellectual, scientific, and cultural life in 20th century. His father (the long-time editor-in-chief at Putnam) acquired The Godfather on the basis of an outline scribbled on the back of a napkin. His mother was the first press agent of the fan dancer Sally Rand. His step-mother is the legendary literary agent Rosalind Targ. He was married for thirty years to the sister of the infamous chess master Bobby Fischer. He briefly dated Henny Youngman’s cousin. He attended college with Alan Alda’s wife, Arlene. He was part of Ayn Rand’s study group in the 1950s--along with economist Alan Greenspan. He was a pioneer in laser research. He spent many years developing air-borne laser wind sensors for Lockheed and NASA. He co-founded the Stanford Research Institute remote viewing program--which was funded by the CIA--and was instrumental in tracking Soviet and Chinese weapon installations during the Cold War. And, he is a legally blind motorcyclist—who happens to be a Buddhist. This is a fascinating memoir by a first-class intellect; the story of a physicist who has pushed the boundaries of siceince to explory the realms of parapsychology, spirituality, and the unexplained.

The Church Of Scientology written by Hugh B. Urban and has been published by Princeton University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-02-24 with Religion categories.

Scientology's long and complex journey to recognition as a religion Scientology is one of the wealthiest and most powerful new religions to emerge in the past century. To its detractors, L. Ron Hubbard's space-age mysticism is a moneymaking scam and sinister brainwashing cult. But to its adherents, it is humanity's brightest hope. Few religious movements have been subject to public scrutiny like Scientology, yet much of what is written about the church is sensationalist and inaccurate. Here for the first time is the story of Scientology's protracted and turbulent journey to recognition as a religion in the postwar American landscape. Hugh Urban tells the real story of Scientology from its cold war-era beginnings in the 1950s to its prominence today as the religion of Hollywood's celebrity elite. Urban paints a vivid portrait of Hubbard, the enigmatic founder who once commanded his own private fleet and an intelligence apparatus rivaling that of the U.S. government. One FBI agent described him as "a mental case," but to his followers he is the man who "solved the riddle of the human mind." Urban details Scientology's decades-long war with the IRS, which ended with the church winning tax-exempt status as a religion; the rancorous cult wars of the 1970s and 1980s; as well as the latest challenges confronting Scientology, from attacks by the Internet group Anonymous to the church's efforts to suppress the online dissemination of its esoteric teachings. The Church of Scientology demonstrates how Scientology has reflected the broader anxieties and obsessions of postwar America, and raises profound questions about how religion is defined and who gets to define it.

Sensation Machines written by Adam Wilson and has been published by Soho Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2020-07-07 with Fiction categories.

A razor-sharp, darkly funny, and deeply human rendering of a Post-Trump America in economic free fall Michael and Wendy Mixner are a Brooklyn-based couple whose marriage is failing in the wake of a personal tragedy. Michael, a Wall Street trader, is meanwhile keeping a secret: he lost the couple’s life savings when a tanking economy caused a major market crash. And Wendy, a digital marketing strategist, has been hired onto a data-mining project of epic scale, whose mysterious creator has ambitions to solve a national crisis of mass unemployment and reshape America’s social and political landscapes. When Michael’s best friend is murdered, the evidence leads back to Wendy’s client, setting off a dangerous chain of events that will profoundly change the couple—and the country. Set in an economic dystopia that’s just around the corner, Sensation Machines is both an endlessly twisty novel of big ideas, and a brilliantly observed human drama that grapples with greed, automation, universal basic income, wearable tech, revolutionary desires, and a broken justice system. Adam Wilson implicates not only the powerbrokers gaming the system and getting rich at the intersection of Wall Street, Madison Avenue, Silicon Valley, and Capitol Hill, but all of us: each one of us playing our parts, however willingly or unwillingly, in the vast systems that define and control our lives.
