In modern society, people's values are gradually becoming diversified, and diversified culture represents the different interests of diverse groups. In terms of culture, many people nowadays pursue individuality and cherish the diversity of different cultures. Therefore, the premise of attaching importance and protecting cultural diversity is to raise cultural awareness, which is the social responsibility of human beings. For my research, I employed an action research methodology. First I built up my thesis through planning a curriculum project which allowed me to explore how my pedagogical approach evolved before and after apprentice teaching. Then by teaching my curriculum project, I explored how all the lessons that I prepared for my classes may not fit during apprentice teaching. In my thesis, I talk about how I applied my central focus on designing different art practices and teaching different grades and what I learned from them. What’s more, I think about how I can balance the role of illustrator and art educator, as well as how I can apply my cultural background, educational background and my own interests in art teaching and art making. Lastly, I address students’ works that inspired my teaching philosophy and students’ reflections helped me to revise my lessons. Multicultural art education is one of the central focuses in schools, as an art educator and using art works as one of the formats to express the beauty and power of multiculturalism. Contemporary artists and their art practice inspired my curriculum planning and students’ artworks.

Art historians have long been accustomed to thinking about art and artists in terms of national traditions. This volume takes a different approach, suggesting instead that a history of art based on national divisions often obscures the processes of cultural appropriation and global exchange that shaped the visual arts of Europe in fundamental ways between 1492 and the early twentieth century. Essays here analyze distinct zones of contact--between various European states, between Asia and Europe, or between Europe and so-called primitive cultures in Africa, the Americas, and the South Pacific--focusing mainly but not exclusively on painting, drawing, or the decorative arts. Each case foregrounds the centrality of international borrowings or colonial appropriations and counters conceptions of European art as a "pure" tradition uninfluenced by the artistic forms of other cultures.
