Diese Sammlung meiner Predigten in Rheine, zum Teil auch in Gronau und in Lengerich, sowie in abgewandelter Form auch in Ibbenbüren, Ahaus, Ladbergen und Lingen, ist in erster Linie eine Art Vermächtnis an meine Söhne, denn u.a. mit diesen Predigten sind sie groß geworden, und sie waren bisweilen die größten Fans und dadurch eine gewichtige Motivation, weiterzumachen. Es könnte ja sein, dass beim Lesen so manches als mehr oder weniger prägend bewusst werden könnte. Möglicherweise ist es aber auch interessant, beim Verfassen eigener Predigten die Ideen des Vaters zum gleichen Bibeltext nachschlagen zu können. Auch meine Patenkinder dürfen gerne darin stöbern. Nicht zuletzt erleichtert sich auch für mich selber das Nachschlagen. Denn nach einer Predigtpause infolge von bedeutsamen Lebensveränderungen 2013-2017, in der ich nicht den Kopf frei hatte zum Predigen, fing ich wieder an, allerdings nachdem ich meinen Glauben noch einmal von A bis Z komplett neu durchbuchstabiert hatte weil die Sache mit Gott mich unter gamu neuen Ausgangsbedingungen betrifft. Umso spannender ist der Vergleich von damals und jetzt, wobei dies sicher ein lebenslang anhaltender Vorgang ist. Vielleicht mag auch anderen Weggefährten die konkrete Erinnerung an damalige Predigten eine Freude oder Hilfe sein, nicht zuletzt vielleicht auch die Entdeckung, wie viel oder wie wenig sich von den damals gepredigten Bibeltexten in der eigenen Biografie konkret wiederfinden lässt. Zwei Schmankerl finden sich am Anfang und am Schluss: eine Andacht von mir aus der Konfirmationszeit, die unsren Pfarrer so angesprochen hat, dass er meinte, ich würde auch mal Pfarrer werden; und die Predigt meines Freundes Dr. Rolf Kuithan, die er uns zu unserer kirchlichen Hochzeit gehalten hat. Die letztgültige Wende brachte die Jahrhundert-Pandemie: Die Predigten ab 2020 sind über Youtube abrufbar, ein Druck ist so gar nicht mehr notwendig.
