Este Cuaderno de "Fe y Secularidad", Ecologismo y cristianismo, busca reconciliar dos realidades que nunca debieron estar enfrentadas: si tal cosa llegó a acontecer, no fue sino por un malentendido de ambas. Para algunos ecologistas, la ideología judeocristiana está en la base de la actual crisis ecológica, siendo así que, en realidad, la raíz bíblica y cristiana se manifiesta profundamente respetuosa y amante de la naturaleza, y Cristo fue un ecologista "avant la lettre", como otros egregios seguidores suyos: Francisco de Asís, Juan de la Cruz, Teilhard de Chardin... Aunque no se puede olvidar a un largo cortejo de cristianos que no manifestaron tan explícitamente tal amor y respeto por todo lo creado.Reconciliación de los seres humanos con la tierra de la que proceden, para llegar a un ecologismo consecuente que, yendo más allá de un mero "ambientalismo" práctico, camine hacia una concepción holista del cosmos y busque la armonía de todo lo creado, relativizando el pretendido papel todopoderoso y arbitrario del ser humano en esa creación, de la que él no es dueño aunque se empeñe. Se propone aquí ir más allá de un ecologismo biologicista, para caminar hacia una concepción social, política y económica alternativa al economicismo, que tenga en cuenta sobre todo a los másd pobres del planeta: pero también una mística y una teología que sepan integrar al ser humano y la naturaleza con Dios. Partiendo del "verdor" de la Biblia y del ejemplo de las religiones primitivas y orientales, se intenta llegar a una reflexión teológica que sepa conjugar armónicamente el Dios personal cristiano (más allá del panteísmo), el papel excepcional del ser humano en el cosmos ("jardinero", más que señor) y una nueva visión del mundo como "cuerpo" de Dios (más allá de la vieja sacralización de la naturaleza).VICTORINO PÉREZ PRIETO (Hospital de Órbigo, León, 1954), vive en Galicia desde niño. Es licenciado en Teología Dogmática por la Universidad Pontificia de Salamanca (1980). Ejerce la labor pastoral en la ciudad de Ferrol (coruña) como sacerdote diocesano.Ha publicado numerosos artículos y es colaborador habitual de revistas gallegas religiosas y laicas: Encrucillada, Irimia (de la que fue director), Grial, Tempos, A Nosa Terra... y de los diarios El Progreso y La Voz de Galicia. También colabora en las revistas españolas Vida Nueva, Alandar, El Prado... Ha publicado varios libros: A xeración "Nós". Sin embargo, todos los intentos que el hombre procure desde una base puramente ética quedarán muy limitados. A través de este libro, el lector será guiado por una exégesis bíblica hacia un modelo ecológico dentro de un marco de pensamiento para pensar la creación, defendiendo la identidad de Dios para su creación y la del ser humano. Haciendo de la creación el puente reflexivo que conecte la teología con la ecología.
