Adigun is a sprawling saga that describes the experiences of two West African boys, Adigun and Chike, forced by different (though related) circumstances to spend their late teens and early adulthood in separate Western countries – one in the UK and the other in the US. From the sun-drenched, tropical paradise of the Nigerian town of Jobore, to London, Chicago, Washington, Amsterdam, and Maryland, they both struggle with self-discovery under the dual burdens of survival in foreign lands and contending with the pressures of their native cultures. Both stray to the edges of criminality. Both cross the line, each dealing with blurred moral lines in their distinct ways and end up reuniting with surprising answers to their questions about what is really important in life. Both of the main characters face the fundamental challenges of becoming men under the extended shadows of their fathers. For Adigun, this challenge includes the psychological schism caused by trying to reconcile his loyalties to his biological father and his adoptive father. Chike is determined to break free of his billionaire father’s control and build his legacy, reputation, and fortune. He breaks several rules to achieve his success until he discovers secrets about his father that bring him closer to the man, and ultimately back into his inheritance. Gbenga Sokefun, is a multi-talented Nigerian-American author, lawyer and industrialist. In spite of his business and professional grounding, he has always gravitated toward the creatively inclined. Born in 1965 into a family of such creative people, Gbenga’s father, the late Remi Sokefun, was a pioneer broadcaster, with WNTV – Africa’s first TV station, and was Controller of Programs when television started in Lagos, Nigeria. Gbenga’s mother was a diligent bilingual secretary, an ardent chorister and a lover of the church hymnal classics. Both parents were powerful influences in his thirst for creative expression. Gbenga’s passion for law and writing triggered his interest in creative writing. Adigun is his first attempt at organizing his many stories into a full-fledged fiction novel. His style delivers a uniquely grounded work of fiction, painting fiction with a brush so real you can feel it. In this book, he attempts to showcase the diverse nature of the Nigerian culture whilst addressing a terrible social plague, human trafficking. In the book, Adigun, he utilizes near-life characters and introduces scenes with breathtaking settings, Off work, he is an avid golfer, a sailor, a lover of animals and enjoys equestrian sports, particularly polo.

Bless Up written by C. R. House and has been published by Author's Partners in Pub Limited this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2010 with Biography & Autobiography categories.

This book is about the origin of a scientist, born into unpromising conditions in Glasgow. Raised by his divorced mother, the author witnessed her hardship and the appalling effects of multiple sclerosis on three family members. Set against those tragedies were the uplifting examples of generosity and humour of fellow Glaswegians. This account charts the course of the author's education at school and university. At school he underwent a dramatic shift from laziness to diligence, the spur being a drive to offset his mother's suffering from divorce. It was a shift that also shaped his academic future. Running in parallel with the author's school and university education was a train of lowly jobs starting at the age of twelve. He learned valuable lessons about human nature as a dishwasher, barman and tram conductor. Indeed, the value of those lessons outdid and outlasted the academic benefits of his lectures at Glasgow University. The theme of this book is that we are often stamped by the others we meet. And those "others" are usually unaware of the unending influence they create in our lives. Sometimes minor events lodge in our memory with their allied emotional tones bringing good or ill. Examples in this book illustrate the paradox that now and again the absence of someone, who should be in your life, has a more profound effect than the presence of most people in your daily life. And those absentees may be totally unaware of their significance. The title and chapter headings come from the author's life in Grenada in the West Indies. Grenada, however, is not discussed in the book but its benign influence on the author is there between the lines in his writing.

My name is Daniel. I’m seventy-one years old and I’m dying. This is my love story, of loving women-—young and old; some with great passion, others delicately but always profoundly. Love is profound. Love is very profound. And, for me...being aware of that truth, the epiphany, came to me late. It would be best to learn it early, but the knowledge is available...always. It’s my story of the love I have for my best buddy—a friendship that’s endured and has been important for over a half century, the undemanding love of dog and master, and the special love of mentor and prodigy. I have always felt a bit like an alien in this world. I’ve looked at myself from the outside looking inward...judging my actions, my behaviors—what I thought, what I felt. Sometimes I was glad at what I saw, and other times deeply disappointed, but my view was always objective. Never a cheerleader yelling, wanting a particular outcome; always looking back with cool, maybe even cold objectivity. With a few rare exceptions, people under fifty have little concern about their mortality. They think they’ll live forever. Death is a foreign thought. I understand. I didn’t spend much time thinking about it either. That’s natural. But you’re wrong. Death is closer than you realize; sometimes a blink away.
