A little more than twenty years ago a life altering event took place in the lives of Dorthy and Jeff Oswald. It was when their daughter Clair appeared from nowhere right before their eyes in the form of a floating puddle of water, and from there transforming into an infant. And for nearly sixteen years they didn't have any ideas as to who she was or her place of origin or why she came. But a day before Clair's sixteenth birthday a startling discovery was made; it was when Clair and her best friend Synovia had stumbled upon a mysterious shop. And on the inside was elderly woman name Astrid. Who possessed an extraordinary ability which enabled her to see into the future. And the very moment they entered the shop Astrid informed them that Clair was from one of the five spiritual lands which existed between our world and the Seventh Heaven, and that Clair's presence on earth was a threat to mankind, so she must return to her own land. After they heard Astrid's foolish claim they immediately walked out. Then last than an hour later Synovia returned alone to seek an apology for her friend. But during her revisited she didn't receive an apology, instead Astrid opened her eyes. Now five years later the real reason why Clair descended will be revealed, and the true threats to mankind have finally reared their heads. But the only way of defeating these enemies is hidden deep inside an ancient labyrinth that Synovia must solve if mankind is to survive. And with time running out Synovia will need some help from Astrid who holds certain clues to the puzzle. She will also need the help of Dorthy Oswald because she has an unbreakable connection with her daughter even though Clair has returned to her land.

The St. Clair River, separating Michigan from Ontario, is one of the world's greatest natural waterways. The 40-mile strait connects Lake Huron with Lake St. Clair, northeast of Detroit, as a key link in the Great Lakes chain of mid-North America. Effectively, the St. Clair drains Lakes Superior, Lake Michigan, Lake Huron, and their tributaries, pouring billions of gallons of freshwater into the lower Great Lakes over the Niagara Falls and out through the St. Lawrence Seaway to the Atlantic Ocean. Its recorded history dates from the earliest French fur trappers of the 17th century to the ultramodern ocean freighters connecting the world directly with inner America. This photographic record of the St. Clair River relates the common historical experiences of the major communities along the American side of the waterway--from south to north, the St. Clair Flats, Algonac, Marine City, St. Clair, Marysville, and Port Huron.

During the six months before December of 1776, Commanding General, George Washington had retreated from nine consecutive battles with the British in New Jersey and had lost ninety percent of his army. Brigadier General, Arthur St. Clair answered the call with fresh troops, took over the leadership of a brigade and suggested the strategies of stealth which enabled Washington's army to win the next three battles over the British in just nine days after Christmas in 1776. This drove the British out of New Jersey and avoided what could have been the end of the American Revolution. St. Clair walked with the giants of the American Revolution...Washington, Franklin, Adams, Jefferson, Greene, Lafayette and others. And yet, for more than two centuries, history has been reluctant to mention that St. Clair... * Became one of Washington's most trusted of only 30 major generals. * Built four armies for Washington * Was the military strategist who helped Washington defeat the British in 1776-77. * Was President when the U.S. Constitution and the Northwest Ordinance were drafted. * Was America's first and last foreign-born President. St. Clair also ... * Stopped the Virginia governor from annexing what is now Pittsburgh (1774) * Protected Pennsylvania settlers from Indian attacks incited by the British (1764-69). * Assisted Governor Penn with development of Bedford and Westmoreland Counties (1764-74). * Renounced his allegiance to Great Britain to become a Colonel in the Continental Army (1774). * Established judicial system for six states of the Northwest Territory.

Learn about the wonders of Lake Erie and Lake St. Clair in this fascinating and readable book. The most comprehensive reference source available about the lakes, Lake Erie and Lake St. Clair Handbook is an ideal guide for anglers, boaters, swimmers, beach walkers—anyone who uses and enjoys the lakes. The handbook explains, in simple terms, the reasons for the scenic beauty and the natural events that occur in the coastal and offshore waters of Lake Erie and Lake St. Clair, including the St. Clair, Detroit, and Niagara rivers extending from Sarnia, Ontario, to Niagara-on-the-Lake, New York. Individual chapters focus on the land, air, water, and life forms that comprise the natural history and environment of the region—the shoreline topography, wind and weather patterns, water temperature cycles and water level changes, the ecology, and indigenous animal life. Lake Erie and Lake St. Clair Handbook enhances our understanding and appreciation of the lakes and their surroundings by addressing fundamental questions about the Lake Erie region: • how Lake Erie was formed through glacial processes • why daily and seasonal weather patterns occur • causes of the water currents and waves • causes of temperature patterns in the lakes • the location of productive reef features • the species of fish and birds found in the area • the importance of the wetlands • the effect of current and past pollution on the aquatic life in the lakes
