Diversidade(S). Discapacidad, altas capacidades intelectuales y trastornos del espectro autista se estructura en tres partes. En primer lugar, se presenta la discapacidad intelectual desde el modelo social. En segundo lugar, se estudian los trastornos del espectro autista desde una visión amplia e interdisciplinaria hasta los aportes específicos de Fernand Deligny en Francia y el movimiento de la neurodiversidad en Inglaterra. En tercer lugar, se indican los elementos esenciales para el trabajo educativo con niños con altas capacidades intelectuales en el aula. El libro recoge los enfoques teóricos, modelos epistemológicos, técnicas de acompañamiento socioeducativo, instrumentos de detección, evaluación y orientaciones generales de trabajo en contextos educativos para los tres casos citados. Se plantea una aproximación teórico-práctica que ofrece criterios de actuación a los profesionales de la educación. Por otro lado, se interroga sobre algunos debates y controversias presentes en los casos estudiados ofreciendo, en su conjunto, un contenido extenso y de gran aplicación práctica.

Este libro describe la evolución histórica de la Compañía de Jesús en España desde la supresión de 1868 hasta su plena reinstalación en los años de afianzamiento de la restauración alfonsina. Los jesuitas, que habían padecido la dispersión y el exilio. lograron al cabo do unos quince años, hacia 1883, instalar una tupida red de centros docentes y pastorales. La originalidad de aquel período fundacional consiste en que comienza en el mismo momento en que la Orden queda legalmente aniquilada en 1868. No deja de ser una contradicción que aquella supresión fuera entonces decretada por quienes proclamaban la libertad de cultos, de asociación y de enseñanza. Acaso por eso nos encontramos con una historia doble, la legal y la real. Los jesuitas, situados fuera de la ley, procuraron organizarse comunitariamente según lo permitían las circunstancias políticas y conforme al grado de tolerancia que les mostraban los sucesivos gobiernos del sexenio democrático y de la Restauración alfonsina. Cuando la tolerancia fue mayor, a partir de 1077, el restablecimiento de la Compañía se Impuso de hecho sin el menor obstáculo. El éxito fue consecuencia del dinamismo de aquel grupo religioso, que sacaba cohesión y energía de la persecución. Pero también se debía al empuje renovador del catolicismo español de fin de siglo y al aprecio y demanda que varios sectores de la sociedad española hicieron de los servicios espirituales, asistenciales o educativos que les ofrecían los jesuitas. El autor ha tenido muy en cuenta la conexión de la historia de la Compañía con la historia política y religiosa; por eso este libro, escrito con rigor científico y sólidamente documentado, constituye una aportación muy valiosa para la historia de España y de su Iglesia.

This book contains the summaries of the "Innovation in Pharmacy: Advances and Perspectives" that took place in Salamanca (Spain) in September 2018. The early science of chemistry and microbiology were the source of most drugs until the revolution of genetic engineering in the mid 1970s. Then biotechnology made available novel protein agents such as interferons, blood factors and monoclonal antibodies that have changed the modern pharmacy. Over the past year, a new pharmacy of oligonucleotides has emerged from the science of gene expression such as RNA splicing and RNA interference. The ability to design therapeutic agents from genomic sequences will transform treatment for many diseases. The science that created this advance and its future promise will be discussed. Phillip Allen Sharp is an American geneticist and molecular biologist who co-discovered RNA splicing. He shared the 1993 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine with Richard J. Roberts for “the discovery that genes in eukaryotes are not contiguous strings but contain introns, and that the splicing of messenger RNA to delete those introns can occur in different ways, yielding different proteins from the same DNA sequence. He works in Institute Professor Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Cambridge, MA, US. Este libro recoge los resúmenes de la «Innovation in Pharmacy: Advances and Perspectives» que tuvo lugar en Salamanca (España) en septiembre de 2018. La ciencia primitiva de la química y la microbiología fue la fuente de la mayoría de las drogas hasta la revolución de la ingeniería genética a mediados de la década de 1970. Luego, la biotecnología puso a disposición agentes proteínicos novedosos como interferones, factores sanguíneos y anticuerpos monoclonales que han cambiado la farmacia moderna. Durante el año pasado, surgió una nueva farmacia de oligonucleótidos a partir de la ciencia de la expresión génica, como el empalme de ARN y la interferencia de ARN. La capacidad de diseñar agentes terapéuticos a partir de secuencias genómicas transformará el tratamiento de muchas enfermedades. La ciencia que creó este avance y su promesa futura será discutida. Phillip Allen Sharp es un genetista y biólogo molecular estadounidense que co-descubrió el empalme de ARN. Compartió el Premio Nobel de 1993 en Fisiología o Medicina con Richard J.
