At his death in 2010, the Anglo-American analytic philosopher John Haugeland left an unfinished manuscript summarizing his life-long engagement with Heidegger’s Being and Time. As illuminating as it is iconoclastic, Dasein Disclosed is not just Haugeland’s Heidegger—this sweeping reevaluation is a major contribution to philosophy in its own right.

…If the SEIN or DASEIN as Being is a common term in present philosophy, the term, the concept, the word of Upsapiens, is totally unexpected and completely unorthodox, either in biology, philosophy, psychology or theology! What really means Upsapiens? It is the basic Sapiens under the big influence of information industry of present times, either in classic or Email form, which put all the classic structures of Sapiens under pressure, towards an improving in its power of judgments and creativity, by overcoming not only of the past times, but even of itself, into the triad of cosmological, biological and ontological structures… Therefore, Upsapiens will be primarily, an overcoming of the Sapiens in itself, through itself and within itself, a move based upon the ability of Oneself Sapiens in coming and becoming… Upsapiens is not at all a form of Supersapiens, or another form of Species Sapiens, but the co-evolution of Sapiens in its oneself becoming, towards a better and wiser Species into the sameness… Up-sapientologist

Being And Time written by Martin Heidegger and has been published by Livraria Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1962-01-01 with Philosophy categories.

A new 2024 translation of Martin Heidegger's major work "Being and Time" (Sein und Zeit), originally published in 1927 in multiple publications. This edition contains a new afterword by the Translator, a timeline of Heidegger's life and works, a philosophic index of core Heideggerian concepts and a guide for terminology across 19th and 20th century Existentialists. This translation is designed for readability and accessibility to Heidegger's enigmatic and dense philosophy. Complex and specific philosophic terms are translated as literally as possible and academic footnotes have been removed to ensure easy reading. Being and Time presents a complex philosophical discourse on the nature of being (Sein) and time (Zeit), focusing in particular on the temporal-existentialist concept of Dasein, a term that combines the German words for "to be" (sein) and "there" (da). This classic philosophic work examines the traditional metaphysical understanding of being, arguing that this understanding, typically based on the idea of a constant presence, fails to account for the temporal and existential dimensions of being. Heidegger proposes that an understanding of being requires an analysis of Dasein, which is characterized not only by its existence, but also by its being in the world and its temporal existence. The concept of Dasein is central to the his argument, emphasizing that Dasein is always already situated in a world, and its understanding of being is shaped by its temporal existence. This perspective challenges traditional metaphysical notions of being as static and unchanging, proposing instead that being is fundamentally temporal and connected to human existence and understanding. As the title suggests, Heidegger sees the question of Being as indistinguishable from Time, arguing that Newtonian conceptions of time as a series of now-points are inadequate for understanding the being of Dasein. His Ontochronology argues that the existential and ontological analysis of Dasein reveals a more fundamental concept of time, one that is integral to the structure of Being itself. The text further elaborates on the idea of "thrownness" and several other existentialist themes. Thrownness is one of the three conditions that signifies Dasein's immersion in the world, where it finds itself already entangled in a web of relations and meanings. This "thrownness", combined with Dasein's inherent being-toward-death, underscores the existential condition of human beings, framing their existence as a continual engagement with their own finitude and the possibilities of their being. Heidegger posits that understanding the nature of being requires a fundamental rethinking of both being and time, dogmatically stating that the true nature of being can only be grasped through an understanding of the temporality that characterizes the existence of being.

Martin Heidegger's Contributions to Philosophy reflects his famous philosophical "turning." In this work, Heidegger returns to the question of being from its inception in Being and Time to a new questioning of being as event. Heidegger opens up the essential dimensions of his thinking on the historicality of being that underlies all of his later writings. Contributions was composed as a series of private ponderings that were not originally intended for publication. They are nonlinear and radically at odds with the traditional understanding of thinking. This translation presents Heidegger in plain and straightforward terms, allowing surer access to this new turn in Heidegger's conception of being.

This elegantly translated collection of Heidegger’s private later writings is “illuminating to some of his most difficult discussions.” (Phillip Braunstein, Loyola Marymount College). Martin Heidegger’s The Event offers the most in-depth articulation of his later work’s most foundational concept, as well as his most substantial self-critique of his Contributions to Philosophy: Of the Event. Written between 1936 and 1944, and published posthumously as volume 71 of his Complete Works, The Event collects Heidegger’s private writings in response to his Contributions. Richard Rojcewicz’s faithful and straightforward translation offers the English-speaking reader intimate contact with the author’s process of formulating some of his most important concepts. This book lays out how the Event is to be understood and ties it closely to looking, showing, self-manifestation, and the self-unveiling of the gods.

Ethics Embodied written by Erin McCarthy and has been published by Lexington Books this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2010-07-17 with Philosophy categories.

While the body has been largely neglected in much of traditional Western philosophy, there is a rich tradition of Japanese philosophy in which this is not the case. Ethics Embodied explains how Japanese philosophy includes the body as an integral part of selfhood and ethics and shows how it provides an alternative and challenge to the traditional Western philosophical view of self and ethics. Through a comparative feminist approach, the book articulates the striking similarities that exist between certain strands of Japanese philosophy and feminist philosophy concerning selfhood, ethics and the body. Despite the similarities, McCarthy argues that there are significant differences between these philosophies and that each reveals important limitations of the other. Thus, the book urges a view of ethical embodied selfhood that goes beyond where each of these views leaves us when considered in isolation. With keen analysis and constructive comparison, this book will be accessible for students and scholars familiar with the Western philosophical tradition, while still adding a more global perspective.

Could be re-thought and re-made another relationship between maximal Individuality of Human Being seen and analyzed as Dasein or Being and its maximal generality of the Species to whom belongs the Human Being, seen and analyzed as Sapiens?... Nevertheless, Sapiens means intelligence, means ability in creativity, whatever in science, technology, art or architecture, in writing books and building up schools, universities or libraries… However, the Book-in-itself, Buch-in-sich-selbst, can be seen as a Being / Dasein in motion and emotion… It would be logically or even rational to put in the same level of conceptological field, whatever in inwards field or outer field Being and Book, i.e., Dasein & Buch?... Moreover, The Being of Book, das Dasein des Büchers, could be re-asserted into the relationship between Books and Library, Büchern & Bibliothek, likewise Being & Species, or Dasein & Spezies, i.e., DASEIN & SAPIENS?... …Finally, our book will have the overall title, the general onoma as DASEIN & SAPIENS, including thus, Book, Being, Library, Species, Creativity, Inspiration, Intuition, Hardworking, Anonymity, Encouragements through myself, Humiliations, Underestimation, Rejections and Threatens… Booksologist
