Many books have been written, to the praise of their authors, because of the author's ability to stimulate the readers' minds. These books can be fiction, or non-fiction, personal stories, or even more serious works. Some draw accolades, anyhow. These books by this author, is none of the above. The author of these books is a Christian, a child of God, who sought to learn what God was telling him, when he read the Bible. Even though men wrote those sixty-six books, the Bible makes it plain that they were all inspired by God. To this author, that means that the messages in the Bible come from God, and if we do not understand them completely, we are to ask God for wisdom, so we may understand His messages. These two books are the result of that philosophy. Even in college, the author was not comfortable with what he was being taught concerning what the prophecies of Daniel meant. The interpretations that the author encountered in the literature, and even from his church, did not impress him that what he was being taught, was what God was telling Daniel to relate to us. As a result, the author embarked on a study that would assist him in discovering what God was really telling Daniel to tell us. That study covered a period of more than two decades, but was it worth it. The author was right. The extant interpretations were what men thought God was telling Daniel. They were not what God was actually telling him. The books will surprise their readers, because of the startling revelations recorded in them. The concentration of the author's study was on the last four visions that Daniel received and recorded. The popular interpretations of those four visions were the ones the author could not fathom before his study was conducted.

A groundbreaking exposé of how our legal system makes it nearly impossible to overturn wrongful convictions Thousands of innocent people are behind bars in the United States. But proving their innocence and winning their release is nearly impossible. In Barred, legal scholar Daniel S. Medwed argues that our justice system’s stringent procedural rules are largely to blame for the ongoing punishment of the innocent. Those rules guarantee criminal defendants just one opportunity to appeal their convictions directly to a higher court. Afterward, the wrongfully convicted can pursue only a few narrow remedies. Even when there is strong evidence of a miscarriage of justice, rigid guidelines, bias, and deference toward lower courts all too often prevent exoneration. Offering clear explanations of legal procedures alongside heart-wrenching stories of their devastating impact, Barred exposes how the system is stacked against the innocent and makes a powerful call for change.

Philosopher Daniel Milo offers a vigorous critique of the quasi-monopoly that Darwin's natural selection has on our idea of the natural world. In popular thought, Darwinism has even acquired the trappings of an ethical system, focused on optimization, competition, and innovation. Yet in nature, imperfect creatures often have the evolutionary edge.

When Jerusalem was conquered around 600 B.C., a young Daniel, kindred of the king, was carried away into Babylon. While he initially served as a junior member among the Chaldean wise men, circumstances would quickly lift him to become a governor in the land. In this role he became a guardian of the exiled Jews for over 70 years. As a prophet Jehovah showed him some of the most impressive and detailed visions recorded in all of scripture. A number of the prophecies give such precise predictions that skeptics such the ancient Porphyry (300 A.D.) objected that the writings could only be historical accounts recorded after the fact, not actual visions of the future. Daniel's experiences involved panoramic views foretelling the history of major kingdoms that would rule in the world. He saw the restoration of the Jews to Jerusalem, the ministry and Atonement of the Savior, the second Jewish diaspora and the events of the latter-days. He saw the events leading to the Second Coming of the Lord. His vision of the Abomination of Desolation, referenced by the Savior (Matt. 24:15), portrayed the rise of latter-day anti-Christs and their campaign against the Kingdom of God and "Saints." Through all these visions, he was given to understand the Lord's hand in governing and guiding the destiny of the earthly kingdoms and His watchcare over the covenant people. One of the most important revelations comes from the angel, Gabriel who speaks of "the wise" (Dan. 12:3,10). The faithful among the people of God whose wisdom and preparation enable them to endure the critical final days leading to the Second Coming. Under the protection of Michael, the Archangel, and his hosts, these faithful successfully endure the turbulent latter-day trials and calamities poured out upon the earth. They are purified and prepared to victoriously rise to the challenges and welcome their Savior when He comes.Join us on this incredible journey through ages as we uncover the meaningful stories and impressive visions of Daniel the Prophet.

The Book Of Daniel written by Aaron Smith and has been published by University of Pittsburgh Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-08-28 with Poetry categories.

A tour de force, Aaron Smith’s fourth collection of poetry, The Book of Daniel, resists the easy satisfactions of Beauty while managing the contemporary entanglements of art, sex, and grief. Part pop-thriller, part queer rage, and part mourning, these poems depict not only the complications of representation in the age of social media but a critique of identity. Taking on subjects as diverse as the literary canon, his mother’s incurable cancer diagnosis, gay bashing, celebrity gossip, bigotry, violence on TV, and Alexander McQueen’s suicide, Smith proves that the confessional lyric is not dead. In tangents as wild as they are reigned, with his characteristic blend of directness, vulnerability and humor, these poems take on the world as it is, a world we love even as it resists all intimacy.
