In this work, the author investigates Gal 1:13-14, Gal 3:6-14, 1 Thess 4:13-17, 2 Cor 12:1-10 and Rom 10:4 and then expounds how Paul, although originating from Judaism and having been educated in Jewish Biblical interpretation, reaches a new hermeneutic only after his experience of Christ. The apostle proves to be dependent neither on apocalyptic views nor on the methods of Greek Rhetoric nor on Rabbinic Midrash, although he is well versed in them. Instead, he develops a Christological interpretation of the Torah, and this interpretation becomes the centre of his mission to the non-Jews. The Torah finds its eschatological fulfillment in Christ and receives its ethical validity for the nations in the form of the love command.

Diese Vorstellung gab es jedoch nicht immer. Das Judentum existierte bekannterma en vor dem Christentum und vor dem Islam. In der Antike existierten nach j discher Vorstellung mehrere G tter nebeneinander, die oft an Ort und Volk gebunden waren. Die G tter von anderen V lkern wurden f r wirklich gehalten und man lie diese anderen V lker in ihrem Glauben gew hren, solange sie die Juden in ihrem Glauben an den EINEN Gott ebenfalls gew hren lie en. Es bestand sozusagen eine gegenseitige Akzeptanz der verschiedenen Glaubensrichtungen. Man hielt die Vorstellung, dass jedes Volk seinen eigenen Gott oder seine eigenen G tter hat f r richtig. Auch heute noch existieren Religionen und Glaubensrichtungen, die mehrere Gottheiten oder "G tterhierarchien" mit G ttern und Halbg ttern haben, wie zum Beispiel der Hinduismus oder der Buddhismus. In der vorliegenden Arbeit m chte ich mich damit besch ftigen, wie es zu diesem Bruch von der Akzeptanz anderer G tter zu einer rigorosen Ablehnung jeglicher Existenz anderer G tter als dem EINEN Gott gekommen ist.
