[History of the Protestant Church in Baden, Volume 2: The Church of the Margraviate] This volume covers the period from about 1530-1813 in the history of the regional church in Baden. The history and theology, church government and piety of Protestantism in the margraviate of Baden(-Durlach) are described. Thus, the volume ranges from the prehistory and history of the Reformation in Baden to the prehistory of the Baden Union. The focus of the presentation is the development of the Lutheran Church of Old Baden between Orthodoxy and Enlightenment in the age of Margrave Karl Friedrich. The integration of the Electoral Palatinate on the right bank of the Rhine since 1803 is dealt with, as well as the history of Reformed refugees and the Jews. A total of four volumes are planned; the third volume will offer the history of the Protestant Church in the Grand Duchy of Baden between 1815 and 1918.
