Excerpt from Documentos para los Anales de Venezuela Desde el Movimiento Separatista de la Unión Colombiana Hasta Nuestros Días, Vol. 7 Que se suprimiese la parte que indicaba las fechas del: principio y término de las sesiones, y aprobada esta su presión, pasó el título en estos términos: Constitución del Estado de Venezuela, formada por los Diputados de las Provincias de Cumaná, Barcelona, Margarita, Cara cas, Carabobo, Coro, Maracaibo. Mérida, Barinas, Apure y Guayana, negándose la frase por una convención, que estaba después de la palabra formada. En seguida se aprobó la invocación siguiente: En el nombre de Dios Todopoderoso, Autor y Supremo Legislador del Uni verso. Leyóse luego el preámbulo según pasó en la se gunda discusión, y el senor Manuel Quintero, apoyado por varios señores, redactó el principio en estos termi nos: Nosotros, los tepresentantes del pueblo de Vene zuela, reunidos en Congreso, etc. También el señor Osio modiñcó, con el apoyo del señor Peña, la última parte así Establecemos la presente Constitución. Discuti das estas modificaciones y todo el preámbulo, fue san cionado en esta forma: Nosotros, los Representantes del pueblo de Venezuela. Tin de formar la más perfecta unión, establecer la justicia, asegurar la tranquilidad do mestica, proveer a la defensa común, promover la felici dad general y asegurar el ddn precioso de la libertad. Para nosotros y para nuestros descendientes, ordenamos y establecemos la presente Constitución. En seguida fueron sancionados delinitivamente los artículos 1? Y del proyecto de Constitución, y al discutirse el 8? El se nor Vargas, con el apoyo de varios señores, observando qne en la segunda discusión había sido acogido el advero bio esencialmente en lugar del de radicalmente, propu se que se admitiese este último. Con motivo de esta moción, el señor Presidente, a invitación del señor Te llería, dijo que preguntaría al Cuerpo si se podían re novar sin modificación las prop°siciones que en segunda discusión fueron rechazadas. También el señor ()sío, apo yado por el señor Narvarte, pr°puso que se declarase que negadas las moditicaciones subrogadas a los artica los de la Constitución en segunda discusión, se podían.
