El fil�sofo autodidacta tuvo una significante influencia en la literatura �rabe, persa y europea despu�s de que fuese traducida al lat�n e ingl�s en 1671 y 1686 respectivamente; la novela tambi�n fue traducida al neerland�s en 1672 y al alem�n a la vez.
