Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2000 im Fachbereich Rhetorik / Phonetik / Sprechwissenschaft, Note: 1,3, Eberhard-Karls-Universität Tübingen, Veranstaltung: Modell und Paradigma in der rhetorischen Theorie, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Die Arbeit untersucht die nicht affektiven Überzeugungsmittel in der Rhetorik des Aristoteles, Ethos und Pathos. Mit Rückgriffen auf Gedanken Jakob Wisses wird versucht zu zeigen, dass laut Aristoteles Logos und Enthymem kein exklusiver Anspruch auf Rationalität innerhalb der Pisteis-Trias zuzuweisen ist. Der Affekt ist vielmehr angemessene Reaktion auf einen Sachverhalt und somit Teil der kognitiven Durchdringung eines Sachverhaltes und nicht Hindernis auf dem Weg dahin. (...) Im Rahmen dieser Arbeit möchte ich auf Ethos und Pathos als die zwei nicht logisch-argumentativen Überzeugungsmittel bei Aristoteles eingehen und diese zunächst darstellen, um daraufhin die Frage nach der Rationalität dieser Mittel näher beleuchten. Das Spannungsfeld zwischen Rationalität und Affekt bzw. Authentizität als Hintergrund scheint mir das Verständnis Aristoteles' aus heutiger Sicht zu befördern. Bei der Lektüre der Rhetorik drängte sich mir der Eindruck auf, dass das Verhältnis der Pole dieses Spannungsfeldes bei Aristoteles ein anderes ist als im landläufigen Verständnis, das Rationalität und Affekt als sich gegenseitig ausschließende Kategorien betrachtet.
