Na verdade, a pergunta acima está invertida. Quando na realidade a pergunta a qual deveria ser feita seria: "quem é normal!" Como assim chamar os contemporâneos de loucos? Todos são normais. Será? Olhe em torno, avalie o comportamento de todas as pessoas que orientam sua vida e verá alguma coisa não muito animadora quando se falar de sobriedade ou de excentricidade! Não há uma única alma nesse mundo nesse momento que deveria ser chamada de completamente sã! Uma das coisas mais desagradáveis para o ego do ser humano é descobrir através de outrem, devido a comentários desairosos que padece de um comportamento insano, o qual nunca havia percebido e nunca poderá aceita-lo! Mas, o que poderia ser chamado de belo comportamento? Quem poderia ser chamado de louco? Quem é a pessoa tida por normal? Há muitos anos atrás, eu acreditava piamente em duas coisas. Que haviam pessoas normais e haviam pessoas malucas. Não entendia porque as pessoas enlouqueciam, no entanto, acreditava que eu era completamente normal e nunca parei para observar o comportamento descontrolado e excêntrico do meu pai. Com o passar dos anos, aprendi algumas outras poucas coisas. Aprendi primeiramente que existe loucura e "loucura!" E pessoas "mais ou menos" normais, porém, para se depositar confiança, mesmo aparentando ser alguém esforçado para ter algo próximo da sanidade. Mas, dizia eu loucura e "loucura!" finalmente por que? Como explicar isso? Existem os loucos irremediavelmente perdidos em seu "apagão" existencial, cujo dano cerebral, lhes tornará impossível terem o que se poderia chamar de vida normal. Há ainda os completamente louco, cujo cérebro encontra-se completamente intacto, mas, sua memória sensorial, mental, encontra-se totalmente "avariada" e sem nenhuma explicação especulativa ou mesmo científica, perderam completamente a noção de si e da realidade e nunca retornarão ao que foram um dia. Outros ainda, já nasceram completamente malucos e sem também nenhum único dano encefálico, viverão como "estúpidos" (no bom sentido da loucura) a vida inteira. E finalmente existe a grande maioria, "seguidores da tendência" da moda da nova loucura, os quais oscilam entre a depressão e a euforia, adeptos da nova teoria dos chamados TOC (Transtorno Obsessivo Compulsivo) e TAB (Transtorno Afetivo Bipolar). Estes estão em todas as camadas sociais e muito felizes podem se dar àqueles que já identificaram o seu mal e começaram a fazer uso de sua medicação, porque quanto aos outros, vivem dando trabalho a todo mundo, prejudicando seus familiares, seus amigos, tornam a vida do semelhante insuportável e ficam irritadíssimos quando são comparados a "loucos!"
