Dabei geht die Autorin von der visuellen Komponente der Bühnenkunst aus und entwickelt anhand von Kostümfiguren, Rezipienten- und Produzentenerzeugnissen sowie Zensurakten ein Panorama der unterschiedlichen Ansichten, Tendenzen und Interessen, aber auch insbesondere der vielfältigen Versuche von Einwirkung auf die Öffentlichkeit, sei es seitens der Regierungen oder auch der Regierten. Dabei erschließt sich die Verbindung zwischen ästhetischer und ideologischer Entwicklung auf der theaterhistorischen Zeitachse zwischen Welttheaterkonzepten weimarischen Zuschnitts, Historismus und Realismus, so dass die identitätsrefelktierende und indentitätsprägende Funktion des Theaters deutlich wird.

As part of its review of competition law that started in the late 1990s, the European Commission proposes to revise its interpretation and application of the Treaty’s prohibition of abuses of dominant positions. Also, it has instigated a debate about the promotion of private enforcement of EC competition law. On the former subject, the Commission published a Discussion Paper in 2005; on the latter, a Green Paper in 2005, followed by a White Paper in 2008. The chapters in this volume critically appraise the Commission’s proposals, including the most recent ones. The authors also highlight the repercussions of the proposed ‘more economic approach’ to abuses of dominant positions on private litigants’ opportunities to bring damages actions in national courts for such abuses.

Traces the development of racial hygiene theory and eugenics research in Germany from the end of the 19th century through the Third Reich. Discusses particularly the work of Alfred Ploetz, a leading propagator of racial hygiene, and his anti-Jewish views. It was argued that German medical science had fallen prey to the "Jewish spirit" and was thus in need of reform. Argues that the biological, medical, and anthropological variants of racism were not only concerned with antisemitism but also influenced Nazi health and social policy. Eugenicists of Jewish origin became victims of the system they had helped to construct. Analyzes how racial hygiene theories were incorporated into Hitler's racial antisemitism and became the basis for the Nazi sterilization and euthanasia programs which, in turn, became the basis for the mass murder of the Jews.
