Virtualization and cloud computing also make it easier for renewable energy sources to be used because companies can choose where to put their data centers based on how much green energy is available. Software makers can also do a lot to help cut down on electronic waste. This method lowers the need for raw materials and lessens the damage that making and throwing away electronics does to the earth.
