Basic Income From Vision To Creeping Transformation Of The Welfare State written by Rolf G. Heinze and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2023-02-14 with Social Science categories.

The present publication constitutively expands the field of discourse on the topic of basic income and explores the possibilities of its introduction as well as the opportunities and risks. Although all visionary proposals for an unconditional basic income (BGE) have so far not been implemented politically, at least in democratically constituted welfare states, the question of implementation or the conditions for success and the identification of possible blockades have only been dealt with marginally. Recent publications on a BGE also show this political-institutional "blindness" and do not address enough the reasons for the failure so far. Without a transfer strategy, however, the idea will fail in Germany due to such implementation naivety. In this book, therefore, the state of the debate on basic income is developed further to the extent that it is integrated into welfare-state development processes and current challenges for the "safeguarding of social security". In addition, a social-scientific classification of hitherto visionary guarantee elements of a basic income model is undertaken, linking up with the "silent" change to a socially investing state.

Seminar paper from the year 2018 in the subject Social Studies (General), grade: 1,0, Budapest Business School, language: English, abstract: The idea of a fixed sum, which everyone should receive without compensation, is - depending on the interpretation - up to several hundred years old and has been considered by representatives of all political directions. But in recent years it has increasingly found supporters. There are good reasons for this. Work and economic life are changing at a pace that was hardly imaginable just a few decades ago. Automation, digitization and networking are the key words that mean in practice: The number of jobs that will increasingly be performed by smarter machines in the future is likely to rise. Where self-propelled trucks will take care of freight transport, where machines provide care services, the risk of losing their job will increase for thousands of people. This development is accompanied by growing dissatisfaction among those who are already out of touch with the labour market. The basic income is the response for a digitized working world and makes people free, say proponents. It sets false incentives, is too expensive and incalculable, say the opponents. Nonetheless, this topic is an approach which arises in order to provide a solution to these omnipresent concerns and in this paper, I will examine the effects of a basic income on high and low-income groups in order to see if a basic income would be realistic or just a solution for the short-run which is not applicable on all groups of the society. In this homework I will first define the unconditional basic income, determine its source and then go into attempts of implementation in order to deal in greater detail in the main part with the effects on the population groups that I have just mentioned. I will also use a survey to try to reflect and explain the current opinions of those who would be affected. In the end of this paper, I aim to be able to answer the question of whether unconditional income could become reality or whether it continues to be a utopia far away, by weighing the pros and cons, the knowledge I have gained and the evaluation of the survey. As it is difficult to look at the unconditional basic income in general, I will focus on the German situation and often explain examples from Germany in order to create a basis for constructive considerations and to give an understanding of how complex and controversial the subject can be.

The second annual FRIBIS conference in October 2022 gave an opportunity to reflect on global developments and challenges through Basic Income research and advocacy. The three-day conference consisted of three keynotes, all focusing on current international challenges and ways in which societies could encounter them with basic income. The main conference was organized by the two international FRIBIS Teams: Water-Energy-Food Nexus and Foreign Aid Basic Income (WEF_FABI) together with Basic Income for Nature and Climate (BINC). Parallel sessions from other FRIBIS teams and members as well as external researchers and advocates from multiple disciplines and fields of expertise completed the program. A selection of the contributions is available in this volume. FRIBIS is a competence network at the University of Freiburg. Led by Prof. Dr. Bernhard Neumärker it conducts interdisciplinary research on Basic Income. The board of directors is drawn from the departments of Economic Policy and Order Theory (Götz Werner Professorship), Psychology, Caritas Science (Faculty of Theology), Ethnology, Computer Science and Educational Science. The FRIBIS matrix consists of international, multi-topic teams composed of advocates of basic income and academics in the field who research and publicly discuss Basic Income from various interdisciplinary and international perspectives.

The first annual FRIBIS conference in October 2021 aimed to take into account the growing economic interest in financial issues in basic income research. After all, research on Unconditional Basic Income is significantly influenced by this development of monetary policy issues and, in turn, contributes just as influentially to the discussion. In addition to the economically focused main sessions, the two-day conference also included parallel sessions of other FRIBIS teams, in which prominent guests of the basic income discourse presented and discussed together with the interdisciplinary and international teams and members of FRIBIS. Bernhard Neumärker is Professor of Economic Policy and Director of the Götz Werner Professorship for Economic Policy and New Ordoliberalism at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg. In 2019, he founded the Freiburg Institute for Basic Income Studies (FRIBIS) for interfaculty and interdisciplinary research on Unconditional Basic Income in a network of six institutes of the Albert-Ludwigs-University of Freiburg. Jessica Schulz is a doctoral candidate at FRIBIS in educational science and, as part of the FRIBIS staff responsible for publication management.

Geld ohne Leistung? Einfach so?
