"I see... what others refuse to see..." That is the first line of a poem that brought about hundreds of ideas, other poems and opened our minds and hearts to the gift we have to share; the ability to move people with our words. However, this book does not stop there. The photos are not always an exact match to the poem, but instead enhance the reading and give depth and a possible different perspective to each piece of writing. Look at the picture, then read the poem and look at the picture again. You may want to reread the poem; possibly to find something new. The journey you may embark on is one of depth and self-reflection. Generally speaking, poetry makes one think and photography allows one to see. We want the opposite to happen. We want our photos to bring about thoughts that are new to our readers and the poems to help them see the world anew. Author and poet, William Blake wrote (c.1803), To see the world in a grain of sand, and a heaven in a wild flower. Look through the grainy wild flowers and find your own world within these poems. Think about what the photographs have to say and what hidden meanings are waiting to be discovered.

My n a m e is ADOLFO RUDY GELSI. My friends call me Rudy. I was born in the small town of Rose located in the provence of Cosenzia in Italy. I grew up in Italy and graduated with a degree in Mechanical and Technical Engineering from the Instituto Professionale per L "Industria e L" Artigianato in 1967. After serving in the Italian Army, I came to the U.S. in 1970. I worked in the fi eld of technical mechanics and continued my studies in the aviation fi eld. In 1985 I graduated from the Sikorsky School of Aviation with a degree in Aviation Mechanics and Airframe Powerplant. I have been writing for over twenty years, which is my passion. I have written several screenplays and several collections of poetry. I live in a small town in New Hampshire. Littleton is where I do my writing. I love to write at night when everyone else is sleeping. The confusion of the daytime takes away the sensibilities of my thoughts.

I write for pleasure and when I feel strongly about something I find it much easier to be articulate writing my feelings down than trying to explain myself vocally. Some of the poems I wrote when my marriage broke down after twenty years are quite dark and depressing, but there is always the golden thread of hope running through which lifts the spirit at the end. It would be nice to think that readers of my work could relate to some of my sentiments, especially the humour in poems like The Ironing Pile and The Driving Test.
