Priceskan wakes up in enemy’s territory, but somehow a thousand years in the past. She’s safe for now, but she needs to find a way to get back to her timeline, where she’s the Crown Princess of the whole magic people, without meddling too much in the past affairs. Only that everything goes awry and what happens is exactly the opposite, especially as the first person she meets in the past is the ancestor of the king who’s after her, Prince Podron. No matter how hard she wants to push him away, he keeps on sticking to her, and together they go on a journey to make Priceskan’s secret wish come true: going back to her timeline. However, Prince Podron isn’t the only person she meets along the way, nor the only life she’ll meddle with, and messing with the flow of history seems to be unavoidable. Will Priceskan be able to find her way back? Is what she knows of the past the truth?

This book is the first to systematically investigate how the notion of time is conceptualised in Jacques Lacan’s work. Through a careful examination of Lacan’s various presentations of time, Chenyang Wang argues that this notion is key to a comprehension of Lacan’s psychoanalytic thinking, and in particular to the way in which he theorises subjectivity. This book demonstrates that time is approached by Lacan not only as consciously experienced, but also as pre-reflectively embodied and symbolically generated. In an analysis that begins with Lacan’s “Logical Time” essay, Chenyang Wang articulates three temporal registers that correspond to Lacan's Real-Symbolic-Imaginary triad and also demonstrates how Lacan’s elaboration of other major themes including consciousness, body, language, desire and sexuality is informed by his original perspectives on time. Filling a significant gap in contemporary Lacanian studies, this book will provide essential reading for students and scholars of psychoanalytic theory, continental philosophy and critical theory.

At this book's core is a critical edition of letters exchanged over 50 years between Anglo-Irish composer Elizabeth Maconchy (1907-1994) and the Welsh composer Grace Williams (1906-1977). These two innovative and talented women are highly regarded for their music, their professional activities and their roles in British musical life. The edition comprises around 200 letters from 1927 to 1977, none of which have been published before, along with scholarly introductions and contextualizations. Interwoven commentaries, in tandem with carefully constructed appendices, frame the letter texts. Moreover, the commentaries and introductory essays highlight and track the development of important themes and issues that characterize the study of twentieth-century British music today. This edition presents a dialogue, through both sides of a unique correspondence, offering an alternative commentary on musical and cultural developments of this period.

IBT is a love story, nestled within a Bible study, wrapped in a science fiction tale. A time traveler from the near future unintentionally causes changes to a well-known Biblical account. The scientists and engineers begin a search for the love of his life so that the restoration mission can be planned and performed. But everyone is stumped when they realize he hasn't met her yet. The unknown unknowns are plentiful. Nothing goes according to plan and there are many unintended consequences. Near future technology, rules and regulations, and an alternate timeline where everything is the same, but different, add to the complexity of the task. With one twist and turn after another, some tragic, some humorous; the two week roller coaster ride finally turns into a race against time itself. The story continues in the sequel, "In Between Space" ISBN 978-1505371734 and ASIN B00VW5NC2U.

Globalization And Armed Conflict written by Gerald Schneider and has been published by Rowman & Littlefield Publishers this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2003-06-11 with Political Science categories.

Globalization and Armed Conflict addresses one of the most important and controversial issues of our time: Does global economic integration foster or suppress violent disputes within and between states? Here, cutting-edge research by leading figures in international relations shows that expanding commercial ties between states pacifies some, but not necessarily all, political relationships. The authors demonstrate that the pacific effect of economic integration hinges on democratic structures, the size of the global system, the nature of the trade goods, and a reduced influence of the military on political decisions. In sum, this book demonstrates how important the still fragile "capitalist peace" is.

A Functional Grammar Of Gooniyandi written by William B. McGregor and has been published by John Benjamins Publishing this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1990-01-01 with Language Arts & Disciplines categories.

This volume sets out to provide a comprehensive description of the grammar of Gooniyandi, a non-Pama-Nyungan language of the southern-central Kimberley region of Western Australia. It covers phonetics and phonology, word phrase and clause structure, and the semantics of closed-class grammatical items. The major focus is, however, on meaning: how do Gooniyandi speakers mean with and in their language. To this end, the theoretical framework of systemic functional grammar, particularly as elaborated in Halliday's recent work, is adopted. Certain refinements to the theory are proposed in order to better account for the Gooniyandi evidence. Of obvious importance to those studying Australian aboriginal languages, this work has an importance to a wider audience for its effective presentation of theory justification.
