Ces dernières années, l’influence des mécanismes de gouvernance sur les décisions d’innovation s’est considérablement accrue. Dans ce contexte, l’objectif de cet ouvrage est de relier ces deux domaines de recherche en passant en revue les travaux sur la gouvernance et l’innovation, ainsi que l’interrelation entre les deux. Le but est de dresser l’état de l’art dans ces domaines, d’exposer les fondements, les modèles théoriques et empiriques qui supportent l’interaction entre la gouvernance et l’innovation, de proposer ainsi de nouvelles pistes de réflexion et de recherche empirique. L’innovation est par ailleurs abordée sous différents angles: les nouvelles perspectives de gouvernance de l’innovation, la gouvernance des technologies de l’information (TI) et des données numériques (Big Data), l’intelligence des affaires, le rôle de la gouvernance dans l’alignement stratégique des TI, les risques liés à l’innovation et aux technologies numériques, l’attribution du pouvoir décisionnel en matière d’innovation, la gouvernance dans l’adoption et l’implantation de l’innovation, le monitoring du changement induit par l’innovation et la prise en considération des attentes des parties prenantes à l’égard de l’innovation.

L’objectif de cette thèse est de concevoir et d’implémenter un Progiciel de gestion Intégré pour l’amélioration, à travers un système d’information, de la gouvernance universitaire. Cette thèse explore les moyens de favoriser l’intégration et la mise en place d’un système d’information qui permettrait, au niveau de chaque université mais aussi au niveau des Etats et des organisations régionales, de disposer de données fiables sur l’enseignement supérieur, de conduire un meilleur pilotage et d’améliorer leur gouvernance. En s'appuyant sur des expériences concrètes d'expérimentation, notamment la mise en place du Progiciel de Gestion Intégrée COCKTAIL dans deux universités béninoises, cette thèse présente une analyse technique des outils nécessaires à la construction d’un SI et une analyse sociale des contextes dans lesquels ces outils sont implantés. Enfin, elle propose une méthode générale de contextualisation des processus d’implémentation et de mise en œuvre en vue de favoriser une amélioration continue de la qualité des services, de la productivité et du développement de l’innovation.
